Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel

Excellent experience Definitely I will come back !!!! The bed was amazing relax

Chose this hotel as it was among fine ones (based on reviews) and available for the dates I was travelling. Also, had spa and swimming pool in the premises. A complete disappointment mainly due to cleanliness, to be preside lack of it. It is old indeed but that is not the reason why there is weird smell in the room and corridors. The floors are carpeted and seems that never vacuumed (at least never in those 3 nights we stayed). Any movement in the room and the dust is flying all over the place. We decided to use the pool, there are two, one outside complementary - filthy, things were floating in water - never saw it being cleaned - chlorine, very strong stench, burns the eyes, and I believe it is assumed that it is clean if you apply immense amounts of chlorine. Then we decided to try spa, you have to pay £12 per person (£24 for 2 people) for the duration of the stay - big mistake not worth a penny. We though if you pay you might as well get better service, cleaner pool and saunas. I was showed the amenities but it was only when I changed and tried the sauna, steam room that I noticed how yet again filthy the place is, hairs on the floor, the tiles seemed to be mouldy (dark and not cleaned). I went in jacuzzi, the water was not warm and there was thick foam on the surface (shouldn’t be). Then I checked the other side of the pool and when was getting out of water something stuck to my hand - hair, I check the surface again and noticed things floating (mostly hair). Tiles were dirty everywhere. We couldn’t stay any longer and left.

Firstly, we parked on the road as the parking sf the hotel was quite expensive. The reception staff were very friendly and we were checked in nice and fast. The lift is still out and staff offered help in carrying our bags which is nice. We were on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool and our room was a lovely size, big comfortable bed, desk, big TV with all the apps to log into netflix etc. The bathroom looked almost new and the shower was massive. 2 sinks and separate toilet. We stayed 3 nights are it was lovely and quiet. We paid £20 each for the spa facilities and the staff were very nice, got a towel to use. The hot tub was great, swimming pool the perfect temperature. The sauna, steam and aromatherapy cave was lovely and we spent a lot of time in each. The only let down was the changing rooms which I assume they are going to change. Grotty. 1 shower and 2 changing areas but tbh it was a minor thing. We didn't use the bar or restaurant so can't comment Walking distance from town and beach. Would def stay again and it was a great stay.

Save yourself some money & stay at a premier inn. The rooms were small, basic and hotter than a menopausal flush! The parking was £15 per night & the spa facilities were £15 per person. We couldn't use the jacuzzi as it was out of action, the pool was chilly and small. The relaxation room was ok but not worth £15. The bar was expensive and the service was poor. We had dinner in the restaurant the first night and it was very tasty but the menu is limited. The service was poor we waited 20 minutes after being seated for our drink order to be taken & a further 5 minutes to order food. Breakfast was ok but it is so hot in there you don't want to hang around. Was genuinely gutted we stayed there.

Spent the night at the Westcliffe dinner bed and breakfast as a pressie from our son. First Impressions were good reception and bar were lovely, bit annoyed at having to pay £15.00 per day to park the car but as the hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the centre/ beach thought ok. There is free parking on the surrounding roads. We didn’t use the pool or spa so unable to comment on these. Evening meals was good and drinks reasonably priced. Now for the not so good bits the room was awful it had a double bed and two singles making the room very small, there were sweet wrappers in the corner of the room so obviously had not been hoovered. The mirror was dirty and there was a horrible damp dingy smell lingering the furniture was old mismatched and badly scratched. We were really surprised at the rooms when the down stairs was so nice. The breakfast was ok ,coffee machine was good once refilled ,orange juice awful , pastries looked ok tinned fruit in large bowls had run out cooked option ok one young girl running around trying to sort everything out. Such a shame hotel is in a good location and could be lovely if they sort out the cleaning and spend a few pounds updating the very old furniture .

Usual not really new hotel

The Hotel is confortable and nice. The reception and services is very good. The area and the hote is confortable.

Stay was ok, location great, plenty of parking. I would have preferred that parking was an option at booking and £15 a night is too expensive for hotel guests. Cleanliness and maintenance in the Spa could easily be fixed. Staff weren’t very welcoming or friendly at reception or the spa, we felt a bit of an inconvenience for them. Room was very clean, lacking power points, especially by the bed. Work men talking loudly outside both our door and window early in the morning. Definitely felt a little unwelcome. An ok stay, a smile from the disinterested staff would have made a huge difference. We had a voucher for £250 and I could see the price of a two night stay on their website, which was less, I didn’t mind, however it didn’t include breakfast and we then had to pay £30 for parking and £30 to use the spa. Just a bit much really. On a positive note, when checking out the young man on reception was charming!
