Langtry Manor Hotel

Excellent little hotel!! Fabulous setting located only a brief walk from the beach. Our room was lovely & smelt amazing!! Lovely decor and style. Very good check in process as well all worked seamless - we were delayed staff called and arranged remote check in! Will gladly recommend and return.

Wr were very disappointed with this hotel , the room was very tired shabby looking which is not what the pictures advertised !! We were out for the afternoon and returned to a cold room the heating was not on so it felt uncomfortable, the bed linen was average and one pillow was so misshapped and uncomfortable to sleep on ( my husbands) the bath tub/ shower had a old soap bar on it like I'm going to use someone else's soap, there was individual toiletries, Breakfast was across the road in a other hotel nor quite what I had envisaged and that was average my poached eggs might as well of been hard boiled and I saw another couple leave there scrambled eggs as they looked quite sloppy. So basically the hotel was just a standard room no other comforts. Would I stay here again No sorry it could be so much better lack of attention to detail.

Had an issue with the bath and when asking reception for assistance all I got was a poor response saying there was nothing they could do. They were not helpful at all. Also had issues with the hotel after we left and had to chase them up multiple times after being promised they would help try and resolve the issue and get back to me. The breakfast in the sister hotel across the road was poor. Portions were small, rubbery and cold . When questioning the waiting staff they said it was cooked fresh to order. All in all it’s the staff that let this place down.

Historic Property, ambiance was low in public areas , I.e no background music in the bar. Reception Team were wonderful!! Room upon arrival was Cold, radiators would not come on, so had to result in using an Electric Fan Heater to get some heat into the room. Not a touch on the Sister Hotel… Derby Manor.

We arrived at noon, nobody on reception until 2pm. Friendly check in staff. Room 15, at the top of the house was tired. Broken loose tiles in the bathroom and cobwebs around the main light. Bed pillows a little lumpy. Kettle, hot chocolate, coffee and decaf fee coffee sachets and a selection of teas and biscuits.

Lovely staff and great hotel

Only negative is carpet in room looking grubby and room needs a refurb BUT everything else is positive. 1. Really warm welcome in 2 ways, heat and welcome from receptionist who showed me to my room. 2. Reasonably short walk to Vitality Stadium to see us (Liverpool) win against Bournemouth. 3. Storm Ciaran hit during match so got drenched walking back to hotel (and still not seen much of Bournemouth as raining today) but thankfully my room had a fan heater to dry my clothes, trainers and coat. 4. Great choice of pillows, comfy bed, light weight duvet but still lovely and warm. Good sleep. 5. A bath is a welcome change in hotels these days. 6. Everywhere seemed clean. 7. Breakfast at sister hotel across the road was wonderful. Good welcome from reception and restaurant staff; cooked to order hot breakfast (eggs royale for me); proper filter coffee; proper fruit juices, yoghurts (perfect Yeo Valley organic), fruit, cereals, toast, and pastries. Feel ready for journey home. Would certainly stay again.

When we made our booking we were not told that our room would be on the third floor and that there was no lift. The final flight of stairs ( into the attic) was narrow with a short tread and curved. It was only posssible to get a suitcase up by lifting it above the stairs. We were also not told before we booked that the breakfast would not be on the premises but in another hotel across the road. The en-suite bathroom was the smallest I have ever come across; the room to move around (excluding sink, toilet and shower) was approx 6feet (1.8m) by 2feet (0.6m). The room was not well maintained; the handle to the wardrobe door was broken so the door had to be left open, the door to the en-suite was warped so was difficult to open and to close. The breakfast at the neighbouring hotel was basic; no salads, no cold meats, no cheese and the only bread was supermarket sliced. We had booked for four days but after three days we could not face those stairs again so checked out. It was not a good experience. After we had returned home we were quite prepared to give the property a 2 or 3 star review when we received a request for feedback from the booking company; however we never got any request and when we went on their website we found that Langtry Manor Hotel had marked our booking as CANCELLED thus blocking us from making any comments. We believe they are manipulating the sytem to avoid negative comments hence the 1 star rating above.
