The Spinney

The facility was very poor and not maintained in arears like the shower & bathroom. Very clever pictures. Particularly the checking in system is terrible (Keys left under half bricks on the drive). I think this terrible arrangement has contributed to me and my family feeling very vulnerable and afraid when a man had a set of keys to our bedroom and let himself in whilst we were in bed. Terrible customer service as there wasn't a physical person at the property to deal with this problem and they weren't answering the telephone. Please avoid the disappointment, stay clear! We left a day early, because it felt so unsafe and there was no acknowledgment / validation by the host, of this terrible experience.

I was booked in for two nights to visit an elderly friend many miles away. On the morning of my departure from home I had a phone call to say he had been admitted to hospital in a serious condition with a heart attack. I tried phoning The Spinney before 9 a.m. to inform them I would not be coming. No reply from their landline or mobile number. I sent a text message just after 9 a.m. but no reply. I have written (Recorded Delivery) because I had read I could be charged for non appearance and failure to cancel. I asked for a reply to my letter, but none received after three weeks. I know that refunds are not possible but there is no excuse for not answering phone calls, replying to my text, or replying to my letter.

Booked the spinney for my family including 3 children. Room didnt see a cleaner from Saturday till Tuesday, in all fairness on arrival too the room I had too wipe the tops with anti bac wipes. Anyone thinking of using the kitchen I really wouldn’t. Too top the stay off I received a what’s app message from whom I think is the owner at 9:40pm too be quiet 😮. Yet the noise from 5am is ridiculous if you don’t want families and just want contractors don’t take my booking 😡 If you want and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee bring your own they leave you enough for one and don’t change it along with the bed sheets and towels. My partners room with oldest son bed did not smell pleasant on arrival only at this point I hope they were changed before arrival. Will I book too come back definitely not
