I called the hotel directly to make my reservation. The hotel staff failed to communicate the fact that the hotel was remodeling. The whole lobby was under construction. Most of the tiles were ripped up and the cement was uneven. Usually, that wouldn’t have been a problem, but I have neuropathy in my feet and have to really pay attention to where I walk. I should have cancelled my reservation, but I was tired after a long day and a 3 hour drive. I just wanted to go to bed rather than find another hotel. The room itself was newly remodeled and nice. The next morning, the workers started up jackhammering the rest of the tiles, making it difficult to go through the lobby to my car. I spoke to the front desk about the inconvenience and how I felt that the hotel should not charge full price. The front desk staff and the assistant manager, Peggy Davis, were horribly rude and unhelpful! I have stayed here in the past but will not be doing so in the future. I did call the Hilton Inn Express 800 number. They were absolutely wonderful!
