Brandon Hall Hotel & Spa Warwickshire

Property is in need of a major refurb. Walls had so much filler and holes in them in corridors and bedrooms. Cobwebs hanging from ceiling, black mould in bathroom and very dated along with ceiling paint peeling off. Bar closed at 11 pm even when there was lots of people still in the bar socialising. Definitely not 4 star.

Rooms are clean but bleak, stark, hard, nothing soft or welcoming about them

Not a 4 star! Tired and in need of investment. Check out the state of the men's toilet cubicles to the left of the main reception. The wooden paneling has been drawing 'moisture' up from floor for quite a while, flaking/peeling paint. The bathroom extractor fan in our room not working. No power to the sockets in our bedroom... which apparently I should have reported to the night porter, even though I only found out we had no power at 8 in the morning when I came to plug the kettle in for a brew. Had to honour into the hallway to find a working socket. 1 coat hanger in a double wardrobe.

On arrival the hotel looks lovely. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable with large bathroom too with both bath and shower. The spa facilities are separate from hotel and a short walk outside but was just a pool and sauna. Steam room out of order and no jacuzzi. The pool was absolutely freezing. The lady managing the pool was rude. On arrival she ignored us as she was joking around with another member of staff. We walked straight past her in the end to walk straight through only then did she chase us to ask what we were there for only to tell us we had until 7:45 not 8pm to vacate the spa to give her time to clean. Dinner was hit/miss. One starter was lovely the other awful. Main was lovely. Dessert was average. One of the waitresses was very rude. When asked if the side dishes to the mains would be long she advised us she had two hands. Which was lovely to know but when sides are brought out 10 mins after the mains ? The breakfast was average. Some bits seemed undercooked but was organised and well presented. Overall was just an average stay and glad we got a cheap deal and did not pay full price as would have been very disappointed l. Would not recommend but also not terrible.

This hotel has a lot going for it, good location, good easy parking, friendly helpful staff. Only concerns: the rooms are air blown heated which is a little noisy and if you turn it off at night in the winter the room quickly gets cold. Floors are very cold underfoot, take your slippers. The beds could do with a better mattress, the springs are very noticeable.

Bought a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast package via Groupon, therefore, great value for money. The hotel and leisure facilities are quite tired looking and need a lot of TLC. The initial greeting at Reception, although pleasant, was not friendly or indeed helpful or informative. We had to ask about using leisure facilities, ask about evening meal booking etc. We'd arrived early as we wanted a light lunch in the hotel bar and to use leisure facilities. Lunch was ok, but prices expensive. £25 for a burger/£17 for a chicken salad in a bar we thought expensive? The decor doesn't seem to match the building, a grand old beautiful building with laminate floors? Overall no cosy atmosphere, not much atmosphere at all. Huge tv in the bar/lounge area that was on but muted but then different music playing through speakers. Leisure facilities were ok, not what you'd get at a Spa hotel, but ok for a sauna & swim, no jacuzzi though. Evening meal was tasty and quite a nice choice considering it was in the price paid. Breakfast was good. Late (12 noon) checkout included in our deal, so always a bonus not to have to rush out of the room. Overall an OK stay, but have stayed a much nicer places using a similar deal. Didn't come away thinking I'd recommend to anyone.

Set in beautiful countryside this hotel has a peaceful vibe. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Food was tasty and good portion sizee. The bedroom was comfortable, clean with beverage-making facilities. The swimming pool was a good size and temperature. Perfect getaway.

What a find! Some of the reviews I had read left me on the fence about what this hotel would be like. I am extremely pleased to say we were extremely satisfied with our stay and would stay again. Our room was not luxurious but clean and simple. The oversized bathroom, extra thick towels, and lovely clean kettle were 'wins'. The room was of a good size with aircon. Our package was DBB..what a wonderful surprise to have full access to the menu and not a side menu. The food was of a great standard, well above average. Breakfast was standard but done well and very tasty. All staff were pleasant and professional from start to finish. We were welcomed in every area by every different member of staff and accordingly thanked and told to enjoy our day. The leisure centre was nice, gym and nice sized pool. Location:Woodland walks but not much village. We had the best time. Thank you, Brandon Hall Hotel. We will return.

Easy for NAC Stoneleigh weekend event. Classic twin room on mobile deal. Parking was easy. Room was basic, clean with no view on ground floor. Nice bathroom. On arrival had to ask for basic pillows and hangers which the guy on reception dealt with straight away. It was a twin room with only a little shelf between the beds; see photo. So you couldn’t have a nighttime drink by the bed. Lounge bar very dull decor with a giant TV dominating the room. No bar snacks only same menu as main restaurant. Main restaurant was a very large room with pleasant decor overlooking garden. Food was good but expensive so didn’t bother with a dessert. We purchased breakfast on arrival £15 x2. It was a very basic self service. Undercooked fried egg and tomatoes. No menu for extras or alternatives. Swimming pool was an easy short walk from the main entrance. It was very good size so you could have a decent swim. No jacuzzi. Be aware there is no shallow kiddie pool. Changing rooms are gender specific, small and no private cubicles. Lockers were easy to use and towels provided. Some maintenance needed here as there were tiles missing from the pool floor. Garden was unimpressive but March is not the best time to see it. For a quick cheap mobile deal it was okay. Lacks a bit of personality so maybe a work in progress?
