Dinner, bed and breakfast ... impressed. The bedroom and ensuite were a decent size, and the bed was comfy. Seamus was an excellent host. For dinner we had pizza - simple, but excellent, probably the thinnest base I've ever had outside of Italy. Breakfast was good, too.

Unfortunately the central heating was broken and the restaurant closed for my visit. However the host went out of his way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I will definitely return in the future - I was just unlucky,

We were a family party of six, ranging from age 13 -85 years so we dined early. We were spoilt for choice and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The service was excellent with very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely linen cloths and real fires. We’re nice touches too. Would highly recommend. Thank you.

No restaurant or bar, waisted our time for a couples break took money said he had cancelled booking had to get booking . Com involved still waiting for refund avoids speaking to customers to resolve don’t waste time, he could have saved me a trip over from Harrogate he called me to hurry me up checking into a dark unwelcoming bar nobody around no chef no nothing in middle of no where it’s not what it seems

Went for early evening meal after Ripon races. Was surprised how quiet it was considering it was a race day and the pub is only five minutes walk from the racecourse. Greeted by a friendly Irish gentleman but was told there was no Guinness left and then the Theakstons Best Bitter went off leaving only one draught beer available. Menu choice was fairly limited but we chose fish n chips and a lamb tikka masala curry. My friend was very disappointed with the fish n chips. Fish was fairly small and curled up at both ends. Chips were anaemic looking and soggy considering that they were supposed to be “triple cooked”. Certainly not worth the £15 cost. The curry was okay but fairly bland and not very spicy. The rice was all clogged together instead of being light and fluffy. Again, not worth the money. Desserts of sticky toffee pudding and three cheese board were okay without being exceptional. All in all a disappointing experience and sad to say I won’t rush back. I have been going to the Blackamoor for many years and it has been very good and not so good over the years under different owners/management. It has the potential to be a great place to dine so I wish the current management good luck but they need to improve the food offering to attract people.

Lovely stay in this friendly, welcoming pub. The rooms were lovely and clean and nicely furnished. Really good, freshly prepared food served in nice unpretentious restaurant. The bar was warm and friendly with lovely comfy sofas in front of a log burner. Great choice of good wine and ales. Perfect for a relaxing couple of nights away. The landlord was a great host.
