Charming historical plantation house. Staff welcoming and accommodating!

This is an interesting old colonial house hotel that is in the process of turning itself into a wellness centre. We were comfortable enough for the night. There is no restauranr but the owner ordered in a pizza for us. One really needs your own car here as nothing is close. The continental breakfast at $ 20 pp was very basic, and overpriced - no eggs, no toast. We came to experience the almost 300 year old house. But there was little warmth to the welcome. Pool and grounds lovely.

Dog hair all over furniture in common areas. Not food available. Pool was dirty. No greeting or explanation given about property. No assistance with luggage and all rooms are upstairs. Property is not as described. This is really a wedding venue with room for the wedding party to get ready and not a boutique hotel.

Peaceful, relaxing. the host Holly met all of our needs, and the other staff were very good as well. Pool was very nice, and the rooms were great and kept very nicely.

Beautiful building and grounds—a little fatter from town than expected however

Bad Experience. Haley, the manager very stroppy and unfriendly. They have two beautiful dogs which roam freely which is nice. However she became very nasty because the dogs were in HER premises. Not our fault. If she doesn't want dogs in then close the doors !! She should not be in hospitality. A nasty piece of work. No pleasantries, no sense of fun or sense of humour, not helpful, not bothered about anyone. Also all outside doors left open all night, all lights on, no one on site so we felt unsafe as it is in the middle of nowhere. Dogs bark throughout the night so possible intruders around. We could lock our bedroom door but the whole place is wide open. At all the hotels we stay in on Barbados they have security guards on at night as crime is high. Breakfast was when she felt like it. One morning my son went for breakfast and she just said " I am not doing it today, and slammed the kitchen door" Generally a run down place run by a very stressed out horrible person. The place is on the web for sale so maybe that has something to do with it. Whoever buys it would need to spend a few hundred thousand to get it back to its former glory. Avoid. I would rather stay at home than go there again.

The owner conducts his loud arrogant business calls within the echoing confines of the house, making this place far from tranquil. He is an unfriendly snobbish British man and regularly can be heard arguing with his evidently long suffering wife. She has picked up his rudeness and is very standoffish. I don’t think the owners even greeted me formally! The building is beautiful but the grounds dilapidated. Nothing resembles that of the website. The rooms aren’t cleaned properly (quick bed made then off). There are wrecked cars sitting in the driveway and it’s an awful approach. Communication was atrocious and rude. I wouldn’t pay $150 to stay here let alone $250.

We booked this venue for my daughter’s wedding in November. At first, we were delighted with the venue photos on their website, only to find out later that one photo was not of their venue, but of another venue called Sandylane. This photo was one of the deciding factors which lead us into choosing Bellevue, as it presented an indoor option for the wedding in case of rain. When we found out this was falsely advertised, it was too late and we had already paid a deposit, so committed to this venue which only has an outdoor option for a medium sized wedding. Closer to the wedding now, we found out that this venue was used to host an event a few days before the wedding which left the grounds in a delapidated condition, making it unfit for purpose. On top of that management were unresponsive to our messages with days to go before the wedding day as we made attempts to discuss our options. When they finally responded, they were rude , and not willing to provide a suitable Option that could SAFELY host 150 guests . We were also faced with harassing emails from the owner whilst we were working hard on our own to prepare an alternative venue option with less than 2 days to go. This whole experience has made me very stressed and feeling sad for my daughter. It has changed my whole view of Barbados and the way they do business. Even after failing to provide safe ceremony options for the wedding , they refused to reimburse us the money we paid.

We made a reservation for that hotel month ago via ***********...after month or more of confirmation hotel just canceled our reservation and said they are sorry but hotel is not available anymore..probablly they got better deal for more money and just canceled us and said I am sorry! That is their practic...so hooneymoon is ruled amd they do not care..So AWOID THEM TO HAVE EMPTY ROOMS AND MAYBE THEY WILL START THINKING HOW BUSSINESS SHOULD BE!!!
