When we walked up to our room the door was open so we were not sure how safe we were at this hotel. They didn’t have enough parking spots so you had to find parking in the street but there were a lot of no parking areas. The room smelled musty and old. I would not recommend this hotel.

The building is over 100 years older held together with patchwork. The furniture in the rooms were from dated and banged up. The mattress had stains and mold on them. We held 3 rooms only 1 had an office phone and the others none- yet it is included in the resort fee they charge. There was the presence of mold underneath the air condition unit in one of the rooms. The employees are wonderful and patient but the facility is not presentable to paying customers. The bath tub was gross you simply do not want to use it, and it backed up had to be drained with hair and all sorts of things seeping out of the drain. Additionally the toilet bowl also backed up. The bed were not comfortable was in pain after sleeping one night. The beach is open and free for all yet it is included in the resort fee as though everyone does not have access.

The best thing about this hotel is the location right on the beautiful beach. And the beach is free unlike most beach in New Jersey is $30 to $40 for a day pass. Check-in is fast and reception gave us a gift bag with good quality water bottles for refilling filtered water at the lobby. My room is one bedroom unit with a view of the ocean and is super clean and nice. The furnitures are not posh or luxury level but I prefer the location above many other minor details. It is a historic hotel and is very charming in my opinion. Kitchen is will equipped with everything you need to make a meal. There is supermarket and a great fish market/restaurant a few blocks away. The wine shop is also a few blocks away. If you don't want to cook there are many good restaurant with in walking or short driving distance. My favorite is Crab Shack Seafood Market Restaurant and The Cove. The ****** are 5 miles away and I prefer to be away from that area. We will be back.

Great location on the beach! This is a charming historic hotel so is older property. Checkin is great. Gift bag provided with great quality water bottle to refill filtered water at the lobby is a great feature and eco friendly. We have stayed in this hotel three times. Love the Legacy Resort.
