My partner and I married her on 31/03/24. We couldn't have asked for more! The venue is beautiful throughout. We had a hog roast for dinner which was absolutely beautiful and stayed over on the evening. The room was beautiful, and the en-suite amazing! The bed was really comfortable and warm and we had a really good night's sleep. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so warm and welcoming

We had our wedding here in March with the help of the wonderful Lydia. She made everything possible for our special day. From day one when we booked to the day we got married Lydia helped us so much! Amazing guest bedrooms, easy check in for the guests, one of the best breakfast for the day after and the food was out of this world at the wedding! Couldn’t have asked for a better venue, wedding planner and a better day! Nothing was too much for Lydia and the team. If you are looking for a wedding venue or hotel this is 110% worth visiting!

A little gem where you would not expect it.

Mothers Day 3 course meal £38. We had booked and look forward to it. How disappointing. The starters were fine. Main course roast beef. A basic for any chef. The food arrived. The beef was pink/red undercooked . Tried cutting it and struggled to even cut it. When I tried to chew it I couldn't even swallow it. I ended up spitting it out. I tried twice more but couldn't eat it, nor could my husband. We complained and yes they were apologetic and said they would give us a reduction in price but that didnt make up for not being able to eat the meat. The management said she tried eating the beef and agreed it was chewy. I then picked the "chocolate orange cheesecake". It arrived. However it was not chocolate cheesecake at all, just a chocolate moose with an orange liquid centre. Had it been described accurately I would not have chosen it. The whole thing was a total disappointment when it was meant to be a lovely mother's day family event. Yes the complaint was handled well but the poor meal was not about money and that didn't make up for it. Why couldn't the chef check something as basic as a roast dinner was edible. We will definitely not be returning as we expected better with a price tag of £38 for the meal.

Had my Wedding at Bert's rooms and Events and I can honestly say that myself, my husband and all our guests had the most amazing time. The venue was just perfect from start to finish. Lydia was so organised throughout, from helping us to plan the wedding and on the day, nothing was too much for her. Some of our guests stayed over and they were so happy with the rooms they stayed in. We will definitely be back to visit and hold our future events here. Amazing all round. Would Highly recommend.

the room cross from me, had the television on and fell asleep, the volume was high. I woke up several times in middle of night and eventually at 2.45, i went and knocked on the door a few time, woke him up, and asked him to turn the television off. he after 5 minutes. and then i could sleep for rest of the night. next day i was very tired.

What an amazing experience we had , we held our wedding reception here and nothing was too much trouble. Everything was perfect and I couldn’t have asked for anything more, Lydia was exceptional on helping us with everything, even helping us out with all the wedding decor/accessories she has. I can’t thank her enough with the short amount of time we had to plan our wedding. She was super helpful and took the stress from us. We stayed over and the rooms are phenomenal the beds are super comfy and the breakfast the next morning was the best. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are very polite. Thankyou so much Lydia and your team.

Nice place to stay very comfy and very clean good breakfast would stay again

Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. A real welcoming atmosphere. Recently renovated modern bedrooms and dining area that still retains the character of the old buildings.
