It’s not bad peaceful and clean

Clifton House Portslade The room was very spacious with all amenities needed available in the room. The room was exceptionally clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. The entire property was very well decorated and the stay was really quiet. The property is also very close to the train station and local pubs and takeaway. We will be staying again

I liked that it was close to the Portslade railways station where there was a direct Southern Line train from Galway airport. The bus ride into Brighton city centre is about 30 minutes. Plenty of bus stops and bus lines nearby but they don't run all night. Look out for the email telling you how to access the room. For me it arrived on the time of checking and I had not seen it before arriving. This caused a little confusion for me, but I got in in the end. Outside the guest house looks not inviting at all, but inside it is well kept and the room is cozy. I had shared bathroom and the bathroom was very clean spacious and it all worked very well.

Needed a place to stay for a few nights while I was at an event this place was good price check in was self service very simple to follow parking was easy on links road the guy on the phone when organising payment was very polite and helpful which makes a difference as I’ve encountered lots of rude hotel reception staff in the past this is a great place to stay

Clean and comfortable We were in Room 4 on the top floor which was their largest one and had an ensuite bathroom. It was clean with a comfortable bed. We had a small issue with the shower temperature but after reaching out to the House Manager by text, it was repaired quickly while we were out. The only difficulty was parking (as in most areas of Brighton and Hove) but we were lucky to find a space not too far from the guest house. It would be perfect for someone who didn't need to drive - it was a short and convenient walk from Portslade train station.

We would stay again Owner very helpful and welcoming on arrival. Large room with shower ensuite. Fridge hospitality packs. Netflix.

We stayed for 2 nights in the large attic room with en suite shower. The room was really comfortable and a great rain shower. What made it memorable over other places at the lower end of the price range were the little things like 2 touch sensitive bedside lights both with USB ports, ample tasty tea and coffee available, good internet connection, hairdryer and an extra electric heater as the room was huge with SO MANY power sockets. A great low price room at the back of the hotel so very quiet and great sunset view, with parking on site at £5 a day but we had no problem finding on street parking within 4 minutes walk.

Shower was smelling piss, no toilet paper hot and cold valves was boroken

Reasonable price considering proximity to Brighton! Exactly what we wanted basic but clean and convenient!
