My room was really nice, though when I got there (an hour and a half after check-in opened) the cleaner was still finishing up - a little odd that the front desk thought the room was ready before it was. The other drawback was the lack of a lift, and the number of stairs demanded by the building's shape - after the flight of steps up to the first floor, there was a set of a few down, then three back up as I went along the hallway to my room. That was difficult since I was carrying two bags. (So was the revolving door which seems to be the only way in. If you're in a wheelchair, I can't imagine you can even get in the place, let alone get to a room or use it.) Breakfast was less successful. Like many (most?) who came here, I'm a Titaniac who came for the Olympic Room. While nice, it's a lot smaller than it appears in photos. The food itself was unimpressive too - it was more akin to a continental breakfast than a full English, and with few warm options for vegetarians. Well, I can say I've gone up a staircase from the Olympic and eaten in the lounge now. I guess that's something. I think I'd stay somewhere else if I stayed in Alnwick again - though I'm more likely to just stay in Berwick. But if you're just looking for a nice hotel stay, and don't mind the stairs, you could do much worse.
