The location appeared convenient as we made our travel plans, but in retrospect, we should have tried to find lodging that is not smack in the middle of heavy road traffic. Four I-81 lanes to the north of the hotel and two lanes of 11W on the other side. We had the AC/furnace unit turned on constant fan to help drown out the road noise, but it was only so beneficial. Apparently, Tennessee drivers like to rev their engines hard as they drive the roads near this hotel. Due to the road noise alone, I wouldn’t stay here again. But that’s just me. It’s kind of a funky property. Feels like it may have been a different chain before becoming a Hampton at some point. When you walk in the lobby, you’re actually in the breakfast area, which I’ve never seen at a Hampton. Front desk staff was nice, though it was unusual to hear that they were so short on room keys that we could only have one. (I can honestly say I’ve never heard that at a hotel!) No big deal, just odd. The room itself was fine and what you expect from a Hampton.
