Myself and my husband have been to Brixham many times over the years and know the area well. We decided to have a two night break away and came across Harbour View on the internet. Reading the good reviews and knowing the excellent location, we decided to book. Unfortunately, we cannot agree with some of the highly rated reviews and comments. The positives, like most people have said, were the location and beautiful views of the harbour. The staff were lovely and accommodating but we did only see them at breakfast time. Check-in was fine but impersonal. Our room was unavoidably very small, but the bed was clean and comfortable. The issue though was the black mould around the bottom/outside of the shower cubicle and the damp mouldy floor. Also, the window frames were black with mould too. We were in room 2, first floor and by the fire exit door on the landing, the plaster was coming off the walls and ceiling and this was very unsightly. The final negative point is the fact that dogs are allowed in the small dining room area at breakfast time. I’m a dog lover but for people who are not or are allergic to animals, this isn’t good. The mould and fire escape could be easily remedied but in its current condition I would definitely not stay here again.

The four stars are for the friendliness of the owners. So welcoming, especially with a dog and couldn't be more helpful at breakfast. The location is perfect and self check-in was easy, parking at £7 per night in a seaside resort was good and on the harbourside. The views from the seaview room was stunning, especially at sunset. Breakfast was good, full English plus toast, pastries, cereals and yogurts, juice. All well known brands and good cafetiere coffee. The room was small, the bathroom tiny and quite tired, a freshen up of the bathroom and room would make such a difference. We could take pictures and zoom in on the negatives but they were easy to overlook. The bedding and towels were fresh and clean and the bed comfy. The room had a doggy smell., but we had a dog so weren't bothered personally! If you want four star luxury, this isn't for you and you would need to pay a lot more in this location. The New Quay inn was worth a visit and we ate at Rockfish, Petit Maison and fab cocktails at Liberty. Was a lovely weekend.

What a perfect place to stay, our view this morning was spectacular. We only stayed one night as it was a Birthday Treat for me. The room albeit small was perfect, the bed was so so comfy too. The breakfast this morning was lovely and cooked fresh to order, my husband said his Scrambled Egg was gorgeous. Their little pub, The New Quay Inn down the road, is a must, its a quaint busy place. Will definitely be back, and hopefully you've been to Popspecs!!!!!! Lol

Set overlooking the harbour, this guesthouse was a perfect place to stay. We stayed in room 7 with a view of the harbour. The room is small but big enough for the 2 of us with an en suite bathroom. I think this was once a fisherman's house. Breakfast was included with a choice of cereals, pastries, or full English. The food was fresh and cooked well. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and cared about their guests. One thing I will mention is the stairs and parts have a tight turn, so if you're having difficulty walking, please bear this in mind. All in all, this is a lovely place to stay in a great location.

Not up to the high ratings and good reviews of others in our opinion. Overpriced ( we paid £129 for 1 night) for very basic standards, this was a very average boarding house. King room was small, pokey, very cheaply furnished and equipped. Rickety floors, windows and bathroom door came nowhere near to closing due to warped plywood door and uneven floor. Bed was comfy and breakfast waiter friendly but that was it. Breakfast was poor in quality. Parking was a fair way away due to access restrictions by authorities.

We stayed at this superb B&B from 7th to 10th September 2025. So impressed with everything about it from the location to the friendliness and cleanliness and attention to detail. We were made to feel at home straight away when we walked in and was greeted by Barry a charming host. He was just so friendly and welcoming after a long drive. Our room was on the top floor with very steep stairs but the views when you got to the room were stunning. The breakfast room was lovely and the breakfasts were very nice indeed. The lady who cooked the breakfasts with Barry was very friendly and the breakfasts were very nice too. We would love to go back there at sometime in the future.

Lovely little hotel high above the harbour in Brixham. Nice rooms and cooked breakfast. Parking is down steps to the harbour so difficult if mobility is limited
