We stayed for 2 nights at the Careys Manor with our family for a special birthday celebration, with meals at Le Blaireau restaurant and private dining in the Conifer Suite. The rooms were comfortable and the service throughout was excellent, and we had a lovely time.

Stayed here a few years ago and everything was included in room rate (SPA access, cooked breakfast), there appears to be a management decision to now charge extra for these things which just feels “tight”. Personally I would rather have a more expensive room rate and ensure these items are included than pay for all these extra “add-ons”. Rooms and spa area look tired, needs overhaul and some money spent to keep property at a 4/5 star level.

I booked a celebration afternoon tea for over thirty people, the hotel provided the ideal private room with afternoon tea. The event went really well, the staff were helpful and attentive, the food was excellent and the venue was perfect. My guests felt well looked after - there were nine guests in their 90s and the staff were very considerate. I would certainly recommend.

Rude, lazy, unprofessional, incapable reception staff with insufficient knowledge of the English language let alone the hotel itself. I was actually shocked at how poor the standards appear to be at this hotel! Management couldn't care less. Dreadful. Thank goodness the red flags were there at the start and not discovered after the planned booking. Just awful. Much better and friendlier options about.

Please ignore the fake bad reviews. We could not fault this wonderful hotel and spa. We stayed for 2 nights in a 1st floor garden room. The room was large, clean, comfortable. It had a sofa, table and chairs, 3 pillow wide very comfortable bed, fridge, tea and coffee, water, biscuits, desk and wardrobes. The room was tastefully decorated and very stylish. The hotel is so quiet at night. You could be in a cabin in the woods!! The bathroom was clean and modern and well lit stocked with toiletries. We ate in the French Le Blaireau restaurant on our first night. What a lovely place. You feel like you are in France. The decor and food are very french. We had lobster soup to start. Then Sea Bream and Duck for mains. Followed by Creme Brulee and the french equivalent to an Eton mess!" All the food was amazing. Delicious and good sized portions. The 2nd night we ate in the Zen Garden Thai Restaurant. Again well decorated to make you feel like you are in Thailand. Food was really good and again good sized portions. We had the prawn salad, spring rolls, tom yum soup, beef masaman curry, pad thai, and rice. We used the Spa for 2 treatments while at the hotel. We has the Time for Two couple massage. Amazing. The Thai ladies are very polite. Best massages we had ever had. We also had head massages and facials. My husband came out looking 20 years younger!! We used the Spa facilities and the Hydrotherapy suite. I would say that the Spa is the best in the UK. Swimming pool, Jacuzzi, 2 steam rooms, 2 saunas, Hydrotherapy pool with loads of various jet stations that are activated by pushing a button, Ice room with tropical rainstorm experience, Tepidarium, etc. There is also a mud room, a relaxation room, a quiet room. Amazing experience and one which we will definitely be experiencing again.

Had a lovely dinner there with friends on our annual New Forest break. The setting is very nice being in the Forest and the building nicely presented with courteous staff as one would expect from a 4 star establishment. The restaurant is reasonably priced and nicely laid out.

Attended a wedding evening event…the food was absolutely disgusting. Menu consisted of: hot dogs (no butter for the rolls) and the onions were soggy. Fried chicken was average but the macaroni cheese was a soggy brown overcooked mess!! It was actually unidentifiable. There were plates upon plates with leftover food strewn around. So disappointing for a hotel of this calibre.
