TL;DR towels are really hard to come by at this place, and they’ll hassle you if you ask for any. Titled my review “BYOT,” bring your own towel. NEVER in my life have I been given such a hard time trying to get towels for our room. Had a room with 3 beds (slept 6), and the room had 2 towels. Went to the front desk to get 2 extra towels, and was told by the person at the front desk that “You know, most hotels only leave 2 in the room” as if I was asking for a huge favor, or something outside the ordinary. Didn’t need the commentary, but thanked them and left. The next day, our room wasn’t serviced, so I went to the front desk again. Unfortunately, the same miserable person was working again. I knew I was in for a battle. I asked for 3 towels. He replied, “For what?” I told him it was for the room. He said, “It’ll be awhile.” He paused and then went into a room behind the desk. He brought out 2 large towels and a bath mat. He told me I needed to return the used towels in our room because they were running low on towels. I told them our room wasn’t even serviced that morning, which is why I needed the towels in the first place. He then asked if we had the “Do Not Disturb” sign up. I said no. He then begrudgingly told me I could take the towels, but I needed to set our used towels in the hallway outside the room. The hotel was not very clean and most of the staff seemed absolutely miserable. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because of the waterpark. It was decent, albeit an extra charge. Not the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at, but one of the worst.

Wonderful experience here. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. Room was wonder..except toilet is very low..lol. Bed was comfortable and breakfast..wow! I think this is the best spread I have seen..even had Togo boxes avail, waters with crystal light packs, fruit, 2 flavors of waffles avail and so much more! They are redoing some things but workers were friendly and accommodating as well. We only stayed the night but would be happy to stay here again. Hampton has stepped up its game in this instance!

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Brookings

This is our ”go to” hotel in Brookings. I like their pool and small but efficient gym. The rooms are super clean and the beds comfy. It's in a convenient, quiet location with easy access to SDSU and downtown. But it's the staff that make this hotel a regular for us. Mechele (I believe that's the correct spelling) is very convivial and puts a great effort into the breakfast area and greats everyone with a smile to start the day! And Jay at the front desk is professional and efficient.
