The room was lovely and bedding very comfy and clean overall. Breakfast was nice and we did thoroughly enjoy complimentary coffee throughout our stay. However there were a number of items "not working", many plugs, the heating, and the fireplace. We needed parking and was told by a staff who scribbled some directions for GPS in French/Dutch that we had to park in a underground parking lot which we had to make a big circle round-a-bout (2km !!) surrounding the old Town Square in order to get into the lot itself. Long story short, the search for the underground parking took us almost an hour (fortunately the owner was around and he clarified his staff's instructions) to figure where the parking lot was ultimately located - which did not please us at all, after a long day of driving. My feedback to the hotel would be, it would be helpful to future guests to print out information on where to park, as well in general, have more signage in the property. Thank you.

Tout est parfait ! Joli, confortable, idéalement situé... Tout est fait pour passer un agréable séjour. L'hôtel est décoré avec soin et goût, la literie très confortable, la chambre spacieuse. Je ne peux que le recommander !!!

We had mixed feelings on our stay. The beds are comfortable with great linens, the bathroom is modern and squeaky clean, there is an elevator which was welcome and the breakfast is excellent. There is all day access to coffee and tea. Also a plus, we were allowed to drop off our luggage early and the B&B is walking distance to the train station and everything in Bruges. However, when we arrived the person who greeted us gave us the key, asked us to pay in advance, told us when breakfast was and that was it. No other explanation of wi-fi, heating, amenities for guests (there is an empty fridge and microwave in the breakfast room for guests?) and he didn't even know what floor our room was on. We struggled with the wi-fi and heating the entire time we were there. The only time we saw staff was at breakfast. We did text (whatsapp) to find the remote for the fire place and our request was quickly responded to. The wi-fi in room was strong but only if you used the QR code in the room which was not explained and we did not figure out until the day we left. The décor is consist throughout -- a rustic and weathered style -- shabby chic. But it is very tired, and came across as cold and uninviting. The chandeliers throughout are lovely but very dirty. For those reasons we struggled to find it romantic. We picked a small hotel thinking we would have the benefit of staff to help us navigate the best of Bruges but it felt like an impersonal stay at an Airbnb.

Just heading home after a truly memorable break. The hotel’s location is perfect for exploring Bruges, situated next to the cathedral. The rooms are beautiful. We stayed in Cardinal on the 2nd floor. Open beams. Roll-top bath and lovely big bed. It certainly felt special. Breakfast is included as well and there is access to tea and coffee 24/7. The staff are warm, friendly and attentive too. There is nothing not to recommend about staying here

This is one of the more difficult reviews I have ever written because I’m not sure how I feel about Saint Sauveur, a feeling shared by my travelling companion, but at the same time I know I must be balanced and fair. First the location is excellent for visiting Brugge centre. It is less than 10 minutes walk into the main square. The location is busy during the day but quiet at night and it feels safe to walk back to the hotel in the late evening (we returned around 10.30pm). There are plenty of shops nearby and restaurants which are slightly cheaper than in the main square, but let’s be honest – eating on the cheap in Brugge is not easy. I would also recommend booking a table if possible as even in April many of the restaurants were fully booked. We received a warm welcome from Karina who let us leave our bags until our rooms were ready (albeit in an area open to other guests). The building features old oak beams, high ceilings, large pieces of old furniture in the shared rooms which should have given the building a warm feel. But for me it didn’t, it felt cold (not temperature) and somewhat lifeless. The owners seem big on technology throughout with a nice 4 speaker sound system in the main dining/living area along with what appeared to be CCTV. I’m not normally paranoid but I had a feeling we were being monitored (I could be wrong). Using the lift or wide staircase is preferable to the narrow staircase to the rooms. The room was as seen on the website, tall with lots of wooden beams. It was well furnished and the bed was clean and comfortable. The technology extended to the room with controls to change the lighting in 5 different ways (Floor, bed left, bed right etc) which is fine until you get up in the night and don’t know which to press without flooding the room with light. I used my phone. There were two bedside lights but both were wall mounted exactly where you would lean back if you sat up in bed and if you positioned yourself between them you leaned on the wall mounted controls for the lighting system which are rocker switches and sensitive to being leaned on! Great TV and WIFI Router in the room, except the TV didn’t work (I think it was the handset) and the WIFI name on the in-room instructions did not exist. I tried the password on the free Saint Sauveur connection but that didn’t work either. When you entered the room there was a low cross beam that you consciously had to duck around which a piece of well positioned furniture (or the wicker manikin in another corner) would help you to avoid. A one inch step into the room caught us out twice as did the one inch step into the bathroom, which during the night when half asleep is not great. The very cold stone floor made me wish I’d taken my slippers which have never come on holiday with me before. I know these sound small ******* but put together we got the feeling that design and technology had come before practicality and gave an overall feeling of being unwelcoming as a room, which
