Seehotel Waldstaetterhof in Brunnen really exceeded our expectations in every way! Where shall I start? Hotel has truly a wonderful location but unlike many hotels that have a great location but fail on other fronts, this hotel and its staff are the opposite: They have a hotel in one of the most beautiful corners of this planet Earth, and they make it even better experience for their guests! The staff is helpful, smiles, and so professional - they really know their trade, from receptionists to servers, spa workers, to cleaning staff. At times you don´t need to ask - they predict what you want and need. Whatever the management does with staff here, it is working! Great team spirit! Breakfast is fantastic! Coffee/tea/fruit on the first floor throughout the day is a nice add-on. Rooms are clean. Lake-view rooms are worth it. We stayed over Easter and received a small bag of fine chocolates in front of our door on a Sunday morning. Whoever does floral arrangements at the hotel is an amazing artist. I don´t usually notice this, but it was to marvel at, in hallways, on tables, always in spirit with the season. And they even changed in our room small vase with fresh, beautiful flower after a while. Such small, wonderful acts, but they add up to make it a truly relaxing experience. Spa is clean, with a wonderful view and refreshments. We ate once in a hotel restaurant - sophisticated and fantastic food really. The hotel´s location is perfect for exploring the region - if visiting Luzern, or even Zurich, visiting mountain tops by steep railway, or hiking on many paths - it is up to you. We were a family of 5, with teenage boys, and they were enjoying this trip just as much as we did - they also appreciated the beauty and calm after an active day. Kudos to the hotel manaagement, all staff and a wonderful smiling attitude, attention to detail and great skills - you made our days together as a family totally worth it!

Absolutely amazing stay. Didnt try out the spa but this was an amazing hotel. I believe it was a little slow so the staff upgraded me to a room that faced the lake. Breathtaking views. Anything in the mini fridge is free of charge and breakfast is included. All things that really matter when traveling in an expensive country. Would highly, highly recommend.

Excellent location and beautiful hotel. We chose this hotel due to visiting with relatives that live in Schwyz. We also wanted to climb Stoos and did the Stoos ridge walk which was very energetic and made the spa visit the next day very enjoyable. Especially enjoyed the breakfast each morning at this hotel. We stayed in 10 hotels, mostly 4 and 5 star, throughout Switzerland and France, this was the best breakfast buffet of all. The quality of the food was exceptional, so many varieties of cheeses, meats, fruits and the chef making omelettes is excellent. Best omelette I had in Europe! I loved how organised the breakfast room is and no pushy rude people staying like other hotels we were in, also it's not overcrowded, very pleasant to say the least. We were greeted with a big smile each day. I noticed there were big wedding parties and those groups had their own space for meals, this is very well thought out and keeps the comfort of other guests at a top level. The room itself is small but immaculate and beautifully furnished, comfortable bed, lovely outlook to the mountains and a view of the ferries coming in, the waterfronts were booked out. It was very quiet and peaceful over the weekend and the area plus hotel was incredibly busy. The complimentary drinks and chocolates in the mini bar were very welcome and the small chocolates left on the bed from room service well received. This is a very clean and well presented hotel. Loved the spa that is outdoors on the rooftop area and looks out to the mountains and the sauna is large as well. Highly recommend staying here and look forward to returning.

Upon arrival we were in awe of the of the beauty of the property nestled on the lake with all the flowers. Switzerland is one of the most beautiful countries I’ve ever visited and absolutely cannot wait to return, of course when it gets warmer. The staff was extremely pleasant and very helpful (which will be evident later in this review). We were on a guided motorcycle tour (which I will not mention because of how awful the lack of organization & coordination was) but this hotel is a winner. Back to the helpful staff, allegedly I left 2 nice dress shirts somewhere in Europe during my 3 week trip. I sent emails asking if any shirts were found, the staff at Seehotel Waldstaetterhof located my missing shirts and were kind enough to pack & ship to my home in Florida. Of course at my expense, however they didn’t include a knucklehead charge.

We stayed here for 3 nights in July 2025. The location on the lake is gorgeous and we were happy we reserved a balcony room on the lake side. 24 hour access to a cappuccino maker was great. The breakfast was first class and evening dining was great albeit expensive. We were surprised at first as to how small the room was for the nightly rate we were paying but we came to realize that Switzerland is simply expensive. We hiked from the hotel along the Axenstrasse and took the bus to Stoos. Happy I stayed here.
