Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias, A Trademark All-Inclusive Resort

I came here with my Father for a special trip, he is 84 years old with some hearing difficulties and while he can walk, his mobility is slower than in the past. We booked through Westjet vacations and requested adjoining rooms at the time of booking. We were told it wasn't guaranteed, but they would do what they could. Understand that completely. When we checked in, we were given rooms on the same floor, with one between us. Not so bad. We booked Oceanfront because I was told they have a minibar that is restocked daily. Not the case. Yes, there is a fridge, but zero stocking and you get one bottle of water left in the bathroom. I was told they do not stock the fridge at all. I was also promised guaranteed wifi in our rooms (those are the two reasons I upgraded us to oceanfront as I am working from here as well). When we arrived we were only given the main wifi areas (two spots). Luckily the wifi works sometimes in the rooms and I have a good cellphone plan which allows me to create a hotspot from my phone to my laptop. There is one electrical outlet in the room that I can reach, gladly I thought ahead and brought my own extension cord and power bar so I am able to plug in my laptop and my portable monitor which are essential to my job. While the exterior of the resort is quite pretty and colourful, the interior of the rooms is extremely dated. I can live with that. The first morning when we went to the buffet for breakfast, it was abysmal however it has improved since. Lunch and dinner are OK. Nothing to write home about, but it's passable. What I find very disappointing is that three separate times I have asked to move rooms so that I can share a balcony with my Dad instead of having to call each other on the very old telephones or try to yell at each other from 25 feet away. Each time I have been told that the room is not available, despite having seen 3 different people staying in that room since we have been here. I understand it was taken when we arrived, but I spoke to them and they were leaving the next day. Unavailable. Two days later another family checked in. They have left and today I asked again, it is unavailable (despite being empty again right now). No minibar in room that is stocked daily? I can live with that, I walked to the Chedraui a few blocks away and stocked my own with beer and soft drinks. No service on the beach? I can live with that, I simply park my Dad in his seat, myself and mine and walk to the bar to replenish as necessary. Only one bar open at night? No biggie, I can walk to the other. But the lack of understanding when I tried to explain that we simply want a room where our balconies are next to each other when clearly the other rooms weren't being used is a problem for me. On a positive note, the oceanfront rooms are well worth the upgrade if you love seeing the ocean and hearing the waves come crashing in. I also got a bathroom mirror this week! I couldn't believe that I didn't have one before but I do

Once we got in resort mode we had a great time. The rooms definitely need a renovation but they are well cleaned and bedding and towels are clean. Just outdated. That was the disappointing part but we barely spent anytime in our room anyway. Food was decent and extra good some nights. Convenience of walking to Bucerias is a bonus and in the opposite direction is a nice walking path. Not sure I’d go back but with 2 teenagers it was an affordable getaway.

Beach is amazing. Staff are friendly and helpful. Property is definitely older, but the cleanliness helps you look past this. We were in ocean front room, which I would recommend. We had a fridge and a safe. WiFi worked in the room. We got into a la cartes every night. Pleasant stay there. After reading reviews we had lower expectations, Reviewing it as a 3 star hotel, I think it was v good. Food was the same as we’d experienced in higher star Mexican resorts

I wasnt a fan of unlimited food access when they say it is. There is no where to eat between 8pm amd 11pm. The resturants were just buffet service to your table and there was only 3 of 5 open as well as i was told 9 am to book a reservation and by the time we went on was already booked. When i checked in no info was given about the facilities or resorts.

Reserved 2 double or queen beds, was given one king size and one twin. Several inconveniences such as door latch on patio not locking, air conditioning not turning off and having to call for housekeeping service, sometimes twice to clean bathroom as well as room. These were all attended to when requested. Dining reservations for restaurants were not available even when requested at 8am which did not add to the dining experience. Overall it was still an enjoyable holiday and would recommend for a reasonable price.

We had a great stay here. Dining felt limited as it was hard to book for the restaurants. Other than that it was great!

The Decameron is one of the least expensive all-inclusive resorts in the Bucerias area. With that in mind, this resort met or exceeded our expectations in all areas that we engaged in. The food was acceptable and sometimes quite good. We did not eat in any of the a la carte restaurants so no comments there. The adult only pool was good. The beach was good. Our room was looked after each day; bed made, towels replaced if needed, new water bottle. There are no waite staff for drinks so you will have to line up at the bars. Wifi was limited in our room. There are lots of little things wrong if you want to nit pick(no fridge in the room, curtains aren't black-out, taps leaked, bed was hard),but if you are looking for a budget friendly resort near Bucerias, this would be a good choice. I'd go back.

The Resort needs a lot of repairs to rooms,headboards not attached,lamps dont work, paint,crack repair etc.....

we loved the staff & proximity to the beach...we stayed in block 4 & it was very very noisy in the early mornings :( the worst for us was the limited seating at the specialty restaurants & the poor food options over all! for a Mexican property the lack of fresh berries & pico de gallo in the mornings or any time was very disappointing! as was the lack of cheese options & quality cold cuts but even worse was the cheese sauce that was so watered down that it tasted like nothing!!! really Decameron?? the quality of the pizzas & overall protein options were also very sad!
