We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. We started with a little problem, but once brought to their attention, they took care of us. There is an elevator to the 2nd floor. The other option is 2 flights of stairs... With heavy cases, it would be challenging. There is an onsite restraunt and the food is good, a Mcdonalds close by and also a diner.
Im not sure if it would be possible for them to make some changes, but here are some things we noticed. There is no ice machine. Had to ask at the bar for ice. It could do with a coin-operated washer and dryer. I tried to use the phone and was told it wasn't working for out side calls, needs an alarm clock in the room, larger extractor fan in the bathroom to remove the steam when showering, there was some mold on the ceiling because the fan could not remove the steam gast enough. The water pressure was not good.

So noisy is our only complaint you can hear every footstep from the upstairs room. And if you wanted fresh air and your windows open you can literally feel the vibrations of traffic passing by.. other than that everything at the hotel was great.

We stayed here for one night as we were attending a wedding nearby. The staff were extremely attentive, especially Gabriella- the electricity in our room had tripped and Gabriella resolved this very quickly and assured us that if it wasn’t fixed, we can change rooms. We also dined in the hotel restaurant for dinner and were pleasantly surprised with the quality and variety of the food. The service was also great. Overall, I highly recommend staying at this hotel, Susan, Gabriella and the whole team at the holiday inn have been so welcoming and made our stay very enjoyable.

Great position for an overnight stay if you are on your way to Wales. I had an executive room, spotlessly clean and very spacious. Large bed, sofa, spa bath and fridge with drinks and snacks. Staff were lovely very helpful and friendly. I wanted a light meal as I had eaten at lunchtime the staff were so nice. They sat me in the bar, said just order a starter if you want. Had a sandwich and it was enormous, with loads of chips. There is a lot of parking on site and as a service area a McDonald’s, Starbucks and diner which I suspect a little of residents will use which is a shame as the service in the restaurant here is much better.

Pleasantly surprised, we expected the usual mediocre service with the minimum of effort by the staff and experienced the food to be the same. How wrong were we, very helpful and pleasant staff and the food was faultless. We will now only this hotel for all our trips to North Wales. Thank you all Gary & Heather

Well located on the A55 & an ideal position for visiting both Chester and North Wales. Ample parking & useful facilities (find & petrol) close by. Rooms are slightly on the small side but, nevertheless, perfectly okay for a simple overnight stay.

A regular at this hotel now for many years, more likely in the past, would have done a review to highlight the many attributes it offers. The staff, first and foremost, are exceptional. They are warm and friendly and professional. The housekeeping staff are really hard working and this shows in the level of detail within the rooms, they are scrupulously clean. The breakfast selection is very impressive, and food is always hot and replenished. The rooms are spacious and airy, air conditioning. Mini fridge, tea and coffee facilities, bath robes. The only two bits of criticism are that the hotel sits on the A55 road which is extremely noisy though the day and can effect your sleep if you want windows open in the night and are restless sleeper as noise would keep you awake. That said, the reception will provide earbuds complimentary if requested. The small sofa we had in our room had been sat in that many times it meant the cushioning had gone, and you could feel the wooded structure around your legs once seated. This happened when we stayed in other rooms with similar seated areas. My advice would be to replace the sofas on these executive rooms. In conclusion, a lovely, pleasant stay will definitely be back.
