The food was lack luster and basic components overcooked. I'm sure the best parts of the food were ready made/bought in and not home-cooked. Beer and wine were fine though. It took me back to the 80s with the presentation. Felt we couldn't complain as it looked as though the landlady was a bit overworked although it was quiet. She was welcoming though. The place was cold too. Shame, as it used to be lovely years ago and its a beautiful building. Get the food right and we'd come back.

A lovely country pub. The landlady was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of tea and coffee sachets in the room. The food was exceptional and the breakfast was amazing. Even freshly brewed coffee which you do not get in hotels. We were pleasantly surprised.

Mo day bookings look at bar & restaurant times.
The hotel was lovely. Breakfast was great. Unfortunately on booking we didnt look at opening times. We booked to stay on a Monday. The hotel takes bed & breakfast bookings but the bar & restaurant isnt open on Mondays. So we had to drive 15 minutes to another village for food. Not what we realy wanted to do, but the luckily the other pub served food. It only says on opening time that the bar & restaurant is closed Mondays. It needs to more clearer on website as why would we look at restaurant & bar opening timrs if the hotels open. Its not a separate building from bat/restaurant to roons. We were not the only ones that got caught out. A,few others didnt know either.

We stayed here overnight with other family members after spending the day at Belton House. Everything was spot on,from the rooms to spending the evening by the log fire after eating in the restaurant ( All the food was exceptional) . Don't plan on having lunch if you have the full breakfast 😁...all in a great place to stopover.

Stayed at the Tollemache Arms for a wedding locally. They could not have been more accommodating and helpful, allowing us to check in a bit early so that we could get changed and helping us to sort out things we'd forgotten. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. We only had breakfast in the pub itself but that was excellent and set us up for the trip back home the next day.

It was my second time staying for 3 nights at this friendly B&B! needless to say it was once again accellent! The staff is so friendly and accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. The room was so comfortable and super clean ! The food was just as they say the chefs kiss! Highly recommend and of course will be back again :)
