The regulation is to check in at 6 o'clock in the evening, we arrived at 3 o'clock, and we were also checked in. A resort-like hotel with new facilities and a well-maintained appearance. The front desk and the concierge speak good English, and most of the guests are British. The room is very spacious. The kitchen on the first floor is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, pots and pans, a large dining room and balcony, a guest bathroom, and a large terrace. On the ground floor there are two bedrooms, each with a bathroom. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows is a small yard, connected to the next-door unit. You can walk directly from the green belt to the swimming pool. Children like the swimming pool very much, and there is a kiosk next to it for coffee and drinks. If I have a chance in the future, I will come again. To go to the beach, you can drive by yourself or take the hotel shuttle. The quality of salema beach itself is also very good, there are public toilets, small and beautiful beach.

A very clean, quiet and very friendly family run hotel not to far from centre of luz. Stayed here for 8 days and it was so relaxing. A decent size pool, 2.2m at one end, lots of loungers for everyone. Free WiFi all around the hotel. Rooms cleaned daily with fresh bedding and great free air-conditioning. Decent snacks and super bock on tap. Luno (waiter) very friendly and witty, joking all day. Would 100% stay here against, loved our time here. Met some lovely people here too

Please be careful with what kind of accommodation you book, I made the mistake of booking a “twin room” for my elderly parents, it was the most basic of rooms and the only outside space was a tiny triangle of patio at the front of the flat (see pics) my parents had to ask for seats so they could sit out there. Again this is my fault NOT the hotel but I thought I needed to add this in for people who might be thinking of booking the budget room. Cons - The restaurant - if you want to eat at the restaurant you won’t be able to see what’s available on the menu until you have been seated, which can lead to embarrassment if like myself you're allergic to onions and everything on the menu seemed to contain onion so I had to get up in front of everyone and explain to the staff why I was leaving! I asked if there was an alternative which there was but was told if I wanted this I had to pay, having already paid for half board accommodation I found this to be very unfair as it’s an allergy not a choice.! I would suggest that in future to save any embarrassment you would put up the evenings menu where people can make a choice before entering the restaurant. The room itself was very basic no kettle meaning no options to make yourself a drink when wanted. The shower screen was leaking, had someone come out to fix this twice but it was still leaking and so had to keep putting towels on floor. No shuttle bus from hotel to town/beach as advertised on their website. Apparently it finished at the end of their season which isn’t what it said when I booked the holiday and the hotel was fully booked so really can’t understand why it wasn’t running. As other people have stated in these comments the pool chairs were filthy there were some really awful ones full of black stuff!! Pros- A choice of 2 swimming pools, the complex as a whole was very nice like a little village. The reception staff were very helpful and polite.

My wife and I booked 7 nights in Montemar and I must say it has been a delight. It offers what you can expect from a 3 star hotel. The reception and staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, large enough and have a nice outside terrace. The WiFi works great so no qualms there. When we put the card out, our room was thoroughly cleaned. The only point I would improve is the breakfast area which is quite small. But all in all for the price a very good deal if you want to stay in Lagos.

The hotel room is very close to the sea and the downtown. There are many small supermarkets and restaurants next to it. The hotel is well-equipped, with a swimming pool and gym. But the room does not have the common supplies such as coffee and toothbrushes, which are provided in the hotels in China.

Martinhal Sagres is pure paradise! Beautiful scenary and views. It’s the best family friendly resort we have ever stayed in. They cater so well for young children. There are 4 different pools so we loved trying out different ones on different days. Our children had an absolute ball! The playgrounds are Fantastic too. There is so much variety. The kids loved them. They were busy all the time. The restaurants are great too and the best part is the playgrounds located in the front or the play area and child minding service provided within the restaurants!! It means as adults you get to enjoy your meals in peace 👌 I would highly recommend this resort. It is expensive, but worth it. Pure luxury!!

If you look for nature, peace and comfort, this is the place to go. In the middle of the Vincentina Coast Natural Park, full of birds and trees, the buildings of the hotel are designed with great architectural vision. The rooms are just georgeous and have private balcony or gardens. The main building is on higher ground with an amazing view over the park and on the ocean. Enjoy the sunsets from the terrace with the lanterns in the evening or at one of the tables in the excellent Azeitona restaurant. The menu provides for all tastes (fish, meat and vegetarian) and the dishes are prepared with a lot of flavour and finesse presentation. Breakfast is outstanding, with a large buffet selection (lots of typical Portugese sweets, home-made sourdough bread, many fruits, yoghurt, cereals, seeds, meat, cheese and salmon, fresh fruit juice, Bloody Mary station and Portuguese sparkling wine) and à la carte dishes (the pancakes with red fruits! the egg Benedict with salmon!) and drinks. Staff is really great and go out of their way to help the guests. I’d like to specifically mention Elisabete (breakfast and pool bar Zimbro) - who should be paid by the count of steps and smiles -, also Jessica and Paula (dinner service), Bruno (pool bar Zimbro and dinner), Tomas (sommelier) and I wholeheartedly recommend the delicious cocktails from Juan (bar tender Menzondro and cocktail creator). Book a spa session for ultimate relaxation, I had the place (with two sauna’s, hamam, IR shower, ice bath and indoors and outdoor pool) to myself several times. Soledad is very kind, lets you enjoy the place by taking good care of it and serves hot tea and cold water throughout. The main pool is nicely integrated in the landscape and pool service is very good. I very much enjoyed the complimentary yoga sessions in the morning from yogi master Sofia, she is an outstanding teacher, builds the flows from floor to standing to floor for all levels and does a very peaceful meditation at the end where she makes sure everyone lies aligned and relaxed. Namaste, Sofia! The Whatsapp concierge service is very convenient and Joana was very helpful during booking and at check-out. Often forgotten, but certainly worth the mention here is the room cleaning and turndown staff who impeccably service the rooms every day. If you like hiking, I warmly recommend the walks provided in the booklet of the hotel (next to many other activities which also look great). The walk down to the ocean (3,6km, red, labelled average) takes about 50 min (and about 1h10 up) through the Natural Park and rewards you with the best views of empty sand beaches and ocean cliffs like in movies - there is no access but by the dust roads, I only met 1 car driving down and on weekdays spent the time down at the ocean alone (in the weekend there were a few hikers and local surfers, but still paradise ). From the very beginning when we arrived at this Hotel 23rd September 2022 the lady on the Reception was very professional and welcoming. We arrived just after 12.00 hrs and the lady advised that our room may not be ready but she still made a telephone call to housekeeping. Unfortunately it was not ready but we were able to store our cases and go and explore. When we returned back the room was ready, the porter took our cases to the room and it was perfect, room 31 overlooking the pool, very clean, modern and well equipped for our needs. The following morning the breakfast was amazing and I mean amazing I have never seen a hotel accomodate every taste it was absolutely fantastic. I cannot comment on the restaurants available because we like to eat out to taste the culture of the area we are visiting. The pool area looked lovely but we are not pool people we like exploring but that is our choice. We did on return from our days out sit on our balcony which was spacious and had a lovely view of the pool. In the mornings we did see how the hotel pay attention to detail with the cleaners out cleaning the beds and pool area. We did have a drink the bar area one evening which was reasonably priced and it is a lovely area to relax. I would have no problem in recommending this hotel to my friends and family in fact we are looking to book again next September.

Such a lovely hotel, we had a wonderful time staying at Memmo Baleeira and thoroughly enjoyed everything about this hotel. It is very well run, the staff is clearly well trained and all is well thought through to fine details. Very clean, the restaurant is absolutely delicious, quality is consistent with a nice variety of options to suit all tastes - we kept returning several evenings during our stay as it was just so good. Breakfasts were excellent, and overall it is just a beautiful location and a pleasure to spend time here and we felt very well looked after.
