NH Collection Buenos Aires Lancaster

I booked this hotel through Chase Travel, using 21,686 points and 57.69 dollars for a two-night stay from March 31 through April 2. Upon check-in, the reception acknowledged that we used points for our stay. We arrived early in the morning. Compared to the Intercontinental Hotel, they offered nothing other than baggage storage and the possibility of a room as they became available which is the norm. However, there was no disclosure that the pool was under renovation or repair, so it was unavailable. The result was multiple people waiting in their small lobby. We found the Breakfast staff very accommodating offering coffee and croissant for a $10 fee, throwing in orange juice for free. Upon check-out, we were told we needed to pay for the Hotel. thus, prompting a call to Chase Travel who attempted to resolve the payment issue unsuccessfully as NH Lancaster did not answer the phone. It has been 21 days since Chase Travel first attempted to contact by phone and successive email attempts to resolve this issue with no concern shown by NH Lancaster to resolve the issue by replying to Chase Travels requests. Also, the front street and sidewalk is being repaired and so there may be better options for your stay. The rooms were nice.

For the money , I won't recommend to stay in this hotel anymore, Before was a very good hotel to stay in , but now is expensive and the quality of the hotel have downgraded a lot.

Stayed here on a first visit to Buenos Aires. Check in was quick and Frederico was very professional and friendly throughout,. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom too was clean, shower powerful and fluffy towels provided with some toiletries. Breakfast was ok but could be improved as limited hot choices were on offer and the pastries looked very dry, with some biscuits soft. On the first morning the scrambled eggs and cooked vegetables were very cold therefore I complained to one of the staff and opted for an omelette instead, which was eventually provided. On the other mornings, I noticed that someone was checking the food regularly and everything was replenished straight away which was good to see. The staff on the front desk were very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The lobby area is small and they also had some fruit & sweets on offer which was good especially if you were sitting & waiting for a taxi. The hotel is in a prime location - close to the main shopping area and Galerias Pacifico shopping mall. The hotel kept our luggage whilst we went to Iguazu falls which was nice of them and I ended up booking an extra night there. If you need a central hotel close to everything then I totally recommend this hotel.

Good hotel in good location. We stayed here before embarking on a cruise. Staff knowledgeable and friendly. Room comfortable and although the hotel is undergoing renovation the hours are kept to a minimum so not to disturb guests. Breakfast very good, although layout of breakfast room a little cramped. Good choice of different flavoured teas.

We stayed in this hotel for only 1 night between our return from Iguazu Falls and our flight home. Room 402 is a superior room with an enormous, very comfortable bed and the usual facilities such as an in-room safe, a minibar which was locked, a kettle and a Nespresso coffee machine. Some features in the room are a bit old such as the shower door which isn't waterproof, but there's an extensive renovation programme being implemented, so this will make a difference when completed. There is a good waterfall shower and a bidet, but the wash basin doesn't have a plug. There are a reasonable number of hangers and plenty of storage space. The bedside lighting is good and there's a work desk with adequate lighting. Especially helpful is an electric socket with space for 4 US flat pin plugs. This is such a good idea for modern travellers who carry an increasing number of items needing charging. Breakfast was very good because there's the usual wide range of cold meats, cheeses, breads, pastries and cereals available as well as a variety of fruit juices and different types of milk. As well as scrambled eggs in a warming dish, they offer freshly cooked eggs in a variety of ways which was different to the other S. American hotels in which we stayed. When we arrived at 1.30pm we were told that the room wasn't available until 3pm which is check-in time. While this was probably true, the room would have been cleaned and ready and it would have been helpful if we had been allowed in earlier. However it did give us the opportunity to have a beer and split a small, very tasty, pizza for lunch.
