Hotel stopped in time. It can be seen that it has already lived through its glory days, but it is far from the luxury hotels of today.
It is very well located, rooms are spacious, but very old.
Rooftop is very good, I recommend it. Good breakfast, but nothing exceptional.
Overall, for a luxury class hotel, there are many better ones in the city.

This hotel is one of BA's most luxurious and is in a prime location. You can visit the cemetery on foot, and just across the road is Hermes. The overall style is really palace-style, very retro and beautiful, and it is much better than some of the hotels I stayed in in NYC that are both beautiful and shabby. The service is quite satisfactory, which can only be said to be what a hotel at this price should have. I stayed here for five nights in total. It brought me so many memories when I first arrived and when I was about to leave🥺Will be back for sure

We had a lovely room in a very chic hotel. The room was spacious and well fitted out for our short, two night stay. I was on the way to Brazil for a meeting (at Foz de Iguazu) and we took time to view Buenos Aires on the way. The service, including check in, Concierge and check out was very good. The restaurant that we used for dinner and breakfast was very nice with attentive staff. The food was tasty. The room was comfortable and we slept well. There were plenty of power points for charging phones and iPads. The bathroom was large and with all of the accoutrements that you could want. The shower had a rain shower head as well as a hand shower.

Hermosas instalaciones, muy bien decoradas. Delicioso té con patisserie. Quiero destacar la atención de la Srta Irina, en el sector del Spa. Muy cálida y amable. Y me puse en las mágicas manos de Stella Maris, masajista super profesional!! Qué suerte que trabaja en un hotel bien argentino ! Quedé nueva con su masaje descontracturante. Los aceites esenciales que usó eran muy delicados así como el perfume que emanaban. Experiencia para recomendar y repetir. Sin duda !!!

I stayed at the Alvear twice on my recent trip, the first time for 3 nights and then for 1 night. I stayed in a suite and a junior suite and everything about my stay was fabulous. The service is wonderful, the concierge gave us excellent recommendations for dinner. The breakfast area is absolutely beautiful, one of the nicest I have had at a hotel. The rooms have the charm of an old grand hotel whilst being in excellent condition, clean, spacious and well appointed tech-wise. The rooftop bar is a must for a pre dinner cocktail. The location of the hotel is within easy reach of Palermo by car, Teatro Colon, san telmo etc etc I cannot wait to go back!!
