The wash basin leaked, and even the shower curtain in the bathroom was covered with water. It was not very soundproof and was quite noisy. There is little sense of space, the ladder to the cubicle bed is not easy to climb, and the quilt is itchy. The only good thing is that there is a hair dryer

Don’t go there unless you have no option. It’s noisy and expensive. We left our luggage with them for two weeks and they were wet and moldy when we got it back. Obviously, someone dropped liquid on it or worst, there was a pipe leak! Now I don’t have any warm clothes to go to Patagonia. I have three kids. The only reason we chose to go there is because they offered a luggage deposit and we want to travel “light” for a week Uruguay and an other in Iguazu. So we stayed 4 nights and left some luggage for two weeks. Our stay was not pleasant: the whole hostel is really noisy and we heard everything that was going on in the lobby from our room on the 4th floor. That means we woke up at 6 because the islandic elderly group decided to cheer their guide every morning and went to bed listening to old rock metal every night because the employee at the desk felt that was appropriate ambient music. Not pleasant. Staff is ok and it’s clean, but you can get WAY better in BA for that price.

Very friendly and beyond helpful staff. I showed up without a booking and they managed to accommodate me. Lots of organized hostel activities for those looking to get out and be social. Clean rooms, air conditioning and curtains for the shared dorms! It has a nice common area and a reasonably priced breakfast offered in the mornings. Overall, incredible experience!

Lo mas destacado del hostel America del Sur es sin duda alguna el servicio y atención brindados por su staff, en especial Nicky, Juli y Roman; quienes me apoyaron en todo momento para resolver mis dudas en relación a mi estadía. Muchas gracias chic@s! Un hostal muy limpio y colorido que tiene una ubicación privilegiada en el barrio de San Telmo y que además organiza actividades diarias que permiten integr**** con otros viajeros al mismo tiempo que exploras sitios interesantes de la hermosa capital Argentina. Seguro volveré a hospedarme con ustedes!.

Absolutely fantastic for the price. Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, which was a positive for navigating the city with my, uhh, no bueno Spanish. The room was great, and the whole place was clean and secure.
One thing that isn't necessarily clear - they have several activities like (free!) walking tours and outings Tuesday-Friday, and (not free, but worth it) tickets and transportation to fútbol matches on weekends. It was a great resource to have.

El lugar es muy lindo. La atención del personal es excelente, sobre todo Nicole, muy simpática y amable. Detalle para tener en cuenta: el baño no tiene bidet. La cocina de uso común es cómoda. Tiene un lindo playroom y patio. El desayuno (buffet)se paga a parte y es bastante básico. El barrio de noche es un poco oscuro pero se puede andar muy tranquilo. La estación de subte independencia (línea C y E) está a unos 500 metros. Realmente lo recomiendo.

Really modern and clean hotel. Great public spaces and the room was a good size for the 4 of us too. Staff were helpful and they had lots of free events as well as organised trips.
