Db San Antonio Hotel + Spa All Inclusive

Just returned from a week here with my husband and can not fault it in any way. We booked the AI option and the food was superb, plentiful, hot and lots of choice. We also ate at the Chinese buffet on the roof and the Moroccan buffet, food at both these were of excellent quality, booking at these is required but we managed to get tables at both on our chosen nights with no issues. The room was spacious and cleaned to a high standard every day. Would have preferred a wardrobe with full length hanging for dresses rather than an open rail with short hanging only but this is a minor issue and didn’t spoil our enjoyment of the room. There was a safe in the room free of charge and tea and coffee making facilities. The balcony was quite small but plenty of room for a table and 2 chairs. Plenty of Sun loungers round the pool, never had a problem getting them. The staff were superb, all really friendly and helpful and a credit to this hotel. Location is brilliant, near the main bus station and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The other thing worth mentioning us the absolutely stunning sunsets which are visible right in front of the San Antonio. First visit but won’t be our last, perfect stay

Been home a week and it's given me time to think about my review. It's important to remember that my opinion is just that. I'm fully aware everyone has theirs. Been wanting to go to Malta for many years and found this hotel on TUI. Ticked a lot of boxes, although we were quite anxious about the size of it. Personal driver with mini bus was awaiting us at the airport. Check in was immediate as it was just us. Room 454. Very clean, good size, lovely comfy beds and no problems with the A/C. Appreciated the jug and water dispenser as it's so much more environmentally friendly than bottles. We brought our own water bottles from home so we could have water by the pool. Failing that you can buy water bottles at the hotel. We stayed 10 days AI, granting us 6 visits to the other restaurants. We used the allocation and thought the food was excellent in all 4 of the restaurants. Very grateful as the buffet 'restaurant' was more like a canteen. Very busy and very noisy, which we didn't like, but understood with so many guests that would be the case. Having said that the food was constantly topped up and hot, particularly at breakfast, and we never had trouble finding a table laid up for 2. We didn't find the variety particularly great at lunch or dinner but we never went hungry. Sunday lunchtime was awful with the locals taking up so many tables, not particularly accommodating to the tourists and the fact it was Father's Day definitely didn't help. Needless to say we didn't hang around too long! Being a couple in our 50's we opted for the adult only rooftop pool and bar, expecting that to be a lot quieter. It was, except on one afternoon when a group of youngsters totally took over the pool and had their music blasting. People complained but nothing was done about it. The music of an evening up there was sometimes too loud to hold a conversation. But the cocktails were good and made fresh. And the gin/'baileys'/'tia maria' were fine. Hubby also enjoyed the rose and red wine. The lobby bar terrace was a nice area to sit at as well, until the Euros started, then not so much. Only ventured into the entertainment once and it wasn't for us. Overall the hotel wasn't for us either, but it wasn't terrible. We knew we were taking a risk booking somewhere that big as we do like some peace and quiet when we're on holiday. I'm sure it appeals to many. Just not us, so we shan't return. Also be aware that the pavements around the local area are really uneven, slippery and a lot are broken. Worth noting if you're elderly/infirm. Bugibba is very Brits on tour and not terribly picturesque!

Very nice hotel. Good food. In addition, the best bartender Parakash, great service and professional bar staff. Very well located All inclusive plus Lounge, the "plus" price is not so expensive and improves the quality of your stay greatly. Nice swimming pools, closed children's area with a swimming pool and a pirate ship. Great for families with children!

What a fantastic hotel and amazing staff. We arrived earlier than the expected check-in time. So our room wasn't quite ready which wasn't a problem it gave us time to get our bearings around the hotel. The room was neat and compact unbelievably comfortable beds. Cleaned daily to a very high standard. We mainly used the roof top pool as it's adults only. The sky bar is excellent the views across the the bay are fantastic. We had booked the all inclusive plus which is worth every penny. The plus lounge WOW!! The staff that work in the lounge are off the scale when it comes to the service they provide. Nothing is too much trouble for them the guy that serves breakfast it was like having your own butler he made the holiday. The two guys that worked the bar I wish I'd got their names 10 out of 10 for service and presentation of the drinks outstanding. It's impossible to go hungry in this hotel the choice of food is incredible in the main restaurant. There's the al a carte restaurants if you don't find anything in the main restaurant. These are equally as good food wise and levels of service. I must give a special mention to Hadil the guest relations officer, she went above and beyond to sort out things for my brother and his wife's upcoming stay. So I'd just like to say thank you to everyone at the hotel that gave us a great holiday. I can 100% sure say we will definitely be coming back.

We stayed 13th to 20th June. Two of us were on the 7th floor and one of us was on the 5th floor. Neither had a pool view and the solo person faced the main street, but once his balcony doors were closed he heard no noise from the street. The reception staff were helpful on our first/last days, but we did not need to see them at any other time. The double room on 7th floor was light and airy and we had a small kitchen with microwave and fridge. The double room for solo use was smaller than ours but perfectly adequate and had a better balcony. The aircon was fine whenever we chose to use it. The rooms were spotlessly clean on arrival and were cleaned every day. The lift system was okay when not busy, but sometimes a bit of a shambles, especially at breakfast time. There was a power cut on the Sunday, but was throughout Malta, not just the hotel, so hardly their fault and dinner was still available at the usual time. We were all inclusive, and only used the main restaurant for our meals, the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful and the food was lovely and plenty of choice. We sometimes had 'late lunch' which suited us when we went out for the day. There was less choice than main lunch, but it was much quieter. One of our party is very fussy when it comes to food, and always found something to eat at all meals, and found the choice of food very good. There were some Water Polo teams there when we were there, but they were well behaved in the main. At dinner one evening a couple of them did try to queue jump, but a hotel guest did have a word with them, and that was the only time were saw any negative behaviour from them. The main pool area was very nice, but the sky bar and pool were quieter for us as it is adults only. Sometimes we sat on the terraces rather at the pools as they were quiet and sometimes we just needed to be in the shade. Our favourite place was Cafe Maroc, the staff, again, were lovely and we went there on an evening to watch the football matches and have a quiet drink. Through the day the tea and hot chocolate were lovely and refreshing, we never actually had any cakes, but they did look very nice. The hotel is near the bus station, but after a couple of experiences of the buses, we all downloaded the Bolt app for the local taxis and would recommend them as a preferred way of getting around Malta.

Arrived at the hotel and check in was fairly quick. The reception area is large, cool and spotlessly clean. The lift system is something else but you will soon get used to it! The room was large and clean and had a safe and fridge. There was a vending machine on the floor and also a water fountain. Food was plentiful, lovely and great choices and selection plus a selection of drinks. Staff were hard working and friendly. We also ate at the speciality restaurants which were lovely. Pool area was lovely, plenty of sun beds and a large family pool, a jacuzzi type pool (for adults only) the children’s pool was accessible via a spiral staircase (difficult to manouvre with children etc). There’s also an adults only infinity pool on the roof which was lovely. Plenty of bars, our favourite was the sky bar, lovely atmosphere and great views. With only 2 people on reception check in can take a while which is frustrating but one of those things. All in all a lovely hotel in a lovely area, minutes away from the bus station, buses are very easy to understand and there is always someone on hand to point you in the right direction. All in all a great week in a lovely, clean and friendly hotel. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you to all the staff at DB San Antonio once again for a fantastic stay. Our room was ready on arrival and spotless and thank you to Suresh for keeping it that way throughout our stay. Reception staff are great and Shaira an absolute gem and so helpful and cheerful. We ate in the main restaurant and can't fault the choice of food. Spencer is just fantastic and very welcoming. We also went to the Chinese restaurant and the Indian one and again can't fault the food or service. The sky bar is a great place to relax during the day and evening with great views over the seafront. Recommend the adults only rooftop pool as its quieter than the main one . We enjoyed coffee and cake in cafe Maroc and again, the place wouldn't be the same without the lovely Katarina who never stops smiling and is just fantastic. We have friends in Malta so only viewed the entertainment a couple of evenings but it was fine as well. I've stayed at this hotel a number of times now and can honestly say I've never had any issues so I struggle to understand some of the negative reviews. I've also stayed at various months of the year and found the staff and facilities to be of a very high standard at all times. Cannot recommend the hotel highly enough and I will be returning late this year.
