Garden Plaza Bukhara

I'm planning an international marriage with a woman from Bukhara, Uzbekistan. I arrived in Bukhara in the early hours of the morning, and my fiancée came to my room for less than 10 minutes to pick up the gifts I brought. During that time, the front desk called repeatedly, about a minute apart, to announce my fiancée's departure, so we had no choice but to rush out. After seeing my fiancée off, I stopped at the front desk and asked the staff about their policy regarding unmarried couples sharing a room. The reason I visited this hotel was to check the hotel conditions for nearly 20 guests coming from Korea for my wedding in Bukhara in August, and I also needed to confirm the possibility of married guests sharing a room. In response to my question, the staff member told me that an English marriage certificate was required for all married guests. So I re-asked if a document was still necessary even if my parents had been married for over 40 years, and what I should do if it wasn't possible to provide one. The staff's answer was firm: "Cancel your reservation, or go to another hotel." I had a two-night reservation and tried to cancel one night, but it wasn't accepted due to the cancellation policy. However, due to the mounting unpleasantness, I moved to another hotel the next day, even though my reservation for that day hadn't been canceled. Guests staying at this hotel as a couple should take note of this, and the hotel should consider this for staff training. Next is a review based on my one-night experience, which I will compare with my experience staying at the equivalent-grade Shahed Zarafshon in Bukhara. **Room:** Garden < Shahed. The rooms at Garden Plaza feel more like a guesthouse or motel than a hotel. **Food:** Garden > Shahed. Garden Plaza offers a wider variety of food, but Shahed's isn't bad either. **Facilities:** Shahed's swimming pool is overwhelmingly superior. The 'garden' between the hotel and restaurant at Garden Plaza is, by Korean standards, just a patch of grass. **Surrounding Facilities:** Shahed has various amenities within walking distance, such as pharmacies, burger joints, convenience stores, liquor stores, and cafes. Garden Plaza, however, is in a very isolated location.

A beautiful hotel with excellent service, within walking distance of the old city. We were given a family room, which was essentially two standard rooms connected by an internal door – very convenient for four people! The room had everything we needed, with good renovation and comfortable furniture. The front desk was incredibly helpful with all our requests, from booking a restaurant table to currency exchange and more. The only minor disappointment was the breakfast, which was quite modest compared to what we experienced in Khiva and Samarkand. There weren't many hot dishes, and the pastries came in factory packaging, though the coffee was decent.

This was our first time in Bukhara, and we're so glad we chose the Golden Plaza Hotel. We had a beautiful room with a balcony and air conditioning. The breakfast menu offered a great variety of choices. We also used the pool – it wasn't crowded, so it was perfect for relaxing after a hot day of sightseeing. Due to our late flight, we needed to extend our room until the evening, and that wasn't a problem either. Thank you very much for the excellent service and hospitality.

Breakfasts were extremely meager, with only one coffee machine leading to long queues. The buffet was rarely refilled – there wasn't enough food or drinks. The room was in dire need of renovation; the shower leaked, and the toilet ran constantly, even though the hotel markets itself as the newest in Bukhara.

Everything was great! Quick and affordable, with top-notch quality! The staff was friendly and welcoming.

This is a very modern hotel with beautiful rooms. We checked in early and were given our room almost immediately. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable, which is really important to me as I travel a lot. We used the spa area; the pool was decent, and we visited it twice. We also booked the sauna once. Breakfast was a buffet, refilled quickly, with a good assortment of fruits, pastries, and hot dishes. I recommend this hotel for those who love large, spacious rooms and plan to spend time at the pool and spa.

Excellent hotel. Amazing breakfasts, and a pool with a hammam. The rooms are spacious, and the beds are comfortable. It's quiet and peaceful. They have their own parking. We stayed with our family for a few nights – highly recommend it.
