Don't make a reservation. We booked two rooms. When we arrived, the owner gave us one room and moved the other room to a local hotel. The difference was huge and they wouldn't make up the difference. The next day, we found the owner at the front desk using the same excuse. Even the words used when dealing with other passengers who booked are the same; it is obviously the boss's routine, so it is very dishonest. Ctrip should cancel the cooperation with the merchant.

It is very likely that the user will be transferred to another hotel without a reputable owner.

The hotel has the feel of an old folk house and has a nice atmosphere. The hall where we eat breakfast is beautiful and many people take pictures of it.

The staff on reception have a Jekyll and Hyde character: those working by day are friendly and welcoming, while those by night have lost the amiability. The hotel is based on a couple of old Uzbeki houses leading it to having great charm and character, though everyone may not like the colourful decor in the bedrooms. I had a room in the new block with a double bed, two bedside tables, a small table and a chair. There was a kettle for making drinks, but no tea or coffee sachets. There was a great variety of food at breakfast, one of the best breakfasts I have had in Uzbekistan. My problems began when I was about to leave. The night reception staff had great difficulty providing me with the official form for my stay there. I was then told I must pay tourist tax of four dollars per night. I had not paid this in Tashkent or Samarkand. I checked on the ******* app, which said the amount I owed was £4.34, less than the eight dollars they wanted. I ended up paying 72,000 som. In its favour, there is 24 hour reception and the prices are very competitive for what is on offer. It is also worth noting that Google maps says the hotel is on Ardabon street which is different from its address with *******.

What a fantastic find this was. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The setting was amazing with a fabulous room and incredibly well located for sightseeing and a great breakfast that sets you up for it. Certainly very highly recommended.

Beautiful small hotel - old building with intricately decorated rooms off a number of courtyards. Attentive helpful staff and wide range of breakfast food. It was very cold in Bukhara during our stay but we were warm here and appreciated ensuite underfloor heating. Comfortable beds!

I had the feeling I was the only guest at Khomil in mid-January. Traditional styled through and through from front door to bathroom. The dining hall is particularly impressive.

Unique hotel, and the owner is present. Komi himself will tell you the origin of the building, formerly Jewish and Muslim family homes. The breakfast buffet is comprehensive, and very pleasant, and the rooms are spacious with modern, immaculate bathrooms.

We stayed here for two nights in November as part of our trip to Uzbekistan. I booked this hotel because of its location in the old city and because it looked like a lovely old building (which I like). And on that it does not disappoint. It’s very beautiful and lovingly restored in a sympathetic way by the owner Komil, each guest room is unique. Ours had a high wooden beamed ceiling and chandelier, twin comfortable beds and simple wooden furniture. We had a fridge, safe, kettle, air conditioning (which was actually working) and a TV with a couple of English channels. The hotel serves a nice breakfast in the 19th century dining room which retains all its original features, carefully restored. If you like old buildings, this is the place to stay, although it may not suit someone with limited mobility as it has lots of steps and some low doorways. Komil the owner is very helpful and friendly and all the staff speak good English. The location of the hotel is perfect just a few minutes walk from all the main sites, lots of shops locally and a lovely small cellar bar opposite (The Old Barn) with a friendly owner and good beer. We ate in Temir restaurant a couple of times during our stay, we can recommend it. A taxi ride to the hotel from the train station cost us 40,00 som (about £3.50) a taxi that the hotel booked to the airport when we left cost less than half that. We really enjoyed our stay in Bukhara, it’s a beautiful old city (I preferred it here to Samarkand) and wish it could have been longer, if we ever come back this way we will definitely stay here again.

I was on a Gate One/Discovery Tour. No elevator for the upper floors so if you have mobility issues, ask for a room on the ground floor. The staff will help with luggage. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and spoke English. Every room is different and beautifully decorated . Hotel is located in a restored 19th century house. The owner, Komil, is very attentive to his guests. Breakfast has a good selection. Bed is very firm and pillows were ok. Safe, fridge, mini split A/C in room works great. Water in room is replenished every day. No body lotion. Great location. About a 10 minute walk to Old Town.

Our stay at hotel Komil in Bukhara was the absolute high point of our many fine experiences on our travels through Uzbekistan. The place is in an absolutely ideal location for enjoying all that the city has to offer while offering just a bit of separation from the tourist-crowded heart of the old city (but an easy, pleasant walk to it). The decor is a wonderful blend of authentic, traditional designs with modern, comfortable amenities. Our room was beautifully decorated and featured a comfortable, modern bathroom. We certainly enjoyed the breakfasts offered there, in the most beautiful dining room in the country, by a warm, generous staff. Hard to figure how one hotel's breakfast crepes could have stood out from every others', but honestly, theirs were the best we had (and I had them everywhere). I also appreciated their wonderful (brewed) coffee and fresh pastries and fruit.
