Devon Begi Heritage Hotel

The hottest in temperature hotel we stayed in throughout our tour of Uzbekistan The court yard room i was first offered was like a box very dark the court yard area needed large fans as there was no air movement I asked to be moved to another room which ended up being a family room The bathroom had hot pipes going under the floor and the sink wooden surround was not stable hanging from the wall one small window even the toilet seat was hot which i have never experienced in all my years of travel Unfortunately, i became unwell with a tummy bug as others had in our group and trying to go to the toilet in that awful bathroom i will never forget. Dirty sheets i had to ask to be changed if you wanted to charge your phone only one socket by the bed so that you could not boil a kettle for tea or have the side light on I didnt like no carpet in the room it was the only hotel like this The two young chaps there were very hospitable lending me their phone charger and being present in the dining room nothing was too much trouble. Getting me a kettle to make tea. But i would not go back unlike the first hotel in Khiva with swimming pool and area to have a drink outside We did not eat in this hotel only breakfast i have seen other reviews but this was my honest opinion

Lovely hotel, in a good location to explore Bukhara! My room was in the inner courtyard and had no outside windows, but it was still a nice place to stay. Very peaceful. Room was very spacious (good air conditioning which was very much needed)! Very clean room too! Breakfast was good, lots of choice.

The Devon Begi is a charming and comfortable hotel with helpful staff, an excellent location and a very good breakfast. I would give 4.5 stars if that were possible - it only misses out on being 5 stars because the only window in my room (104) was a small panel next to the door. There was a slightly flimsy curtain over this but it didn't feel like much was standing between me and the central courtyard. I experienced no noise at night and the air-conditioning in the room was very efficient. Would definitely stay there again.

This is a very conveniently located hotel for the main sites. The hotel room is a nice size as is the bathroom. They have some nice inner courtyards to sit and relax. Breakfast wasn't up to much but it was adequate. Quick laundry service if needed.

Stay here if you dont want to get any sleep. Perfect for large rowdy groups of people who party outside of your room until the early hours of the morning. In addition, bogeys smeared down the bathroom mirror. Poor choice of breakfast and the rudest inefficient staff. Photo of party outside my room 3am

Horrible place! Limited food at breakfast, brown water from pipes, lack of hot water and extremely incompetent staff. They cater for large groups that come and go during the small morning hours, drinking and partying. AVOID if you would want to have a good night rest. Reception would not ask them to be quiet and expects guests to have a chat with other loud ones. AVOID!!! Used this heritage hotel as part of a group tour. Well located for sightseeing. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room reasonable size but a bit dated, generally OK except beds are firm. Wifi in room. Hot water a bit hit and miss as regards pressure and consistancy. Tip: 3 digit safe code not four as almost everywhere else I have stayed. Breakfast OK but not great. No lift but porters willing to help. OK for a short stay.
