Brown Bamboo Bukit Lawang

My partner and I had such a great time at this place! Our stay was especially made better by Jasu Pinem, one of the trek guides. He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and an incredibly nice person. We became friends during our stay and still keep in contact. Couldn't rate this place and the people high enough. Everyone there was awesome! Eddie as well. The food was great. The room is spacious with its own equipped bathroom. There is A/C and fan plus a great wifi connection. The bed is comfortable and you get a proper blanket (something that I haven’t experienced while staying in low budget accommodations in Sumatra). The restaurant has a wide range of options for food, all of them come in great proportions for very good price. The owner (Gia) is a very friendly guy who is usually hanging around in the restaurant. He has personnel for jungle tracking at regular market price. The hotel is at a perfect location if you want some peace. It is away from the hotspot for the families who are touring around and people staying here are usually locals or solo travellers. The river flows by the front side and you can easily walk next to it, either to the center of Bukit Lawang (where all hotels and restaurants are) or to the village where the locals live. I think the price is great. You get everything you need from an accomodation you’re probably taking just for a day or two and then go to the jungle.
