A friends get together of a local establishment for lunch. The venue is beautiful and in an incredible setting. The menu was great and the food was excellent. Sadly the service was poor from the bar staff who were clearly inexperienced in using their POS and making drinks. I’ll only rush back for the menu and setting.

Evedon is a beautiful property set in a perfect hillside location with commanding views. The building is full of charm with exposed timber beams, balcony overlooking the dam and lovely alfresco dining. The menu is diverse to cater to all needs. The food is excellent, I would recommend it. Unfortunately the bar staff were less than desirable in taking orders for food when one asked me how to spell “rare” in a medium rare order of the steak. Service was good in the food regards but the bar staff need to do their RSA again or to learn how to make a drink.

This accomodation is rustic and set in the Australian bush next to a man made lake . We booked the 2 story apartment 1 next to reception and in front of the beautiful lake with the most gorgeous sunset. The kitchen is fairly well equipped with a stove , oven , toaster and a medium size fridge . What would have made it better are a pair of scissors , a sponge for washing and salt and pepper. The living room was a little cold till we got the wood fire going . Supply of wood was adequate. The bathroom is newly renovated and very clean . Temperature control is ok . The bedroom are up a spiral stairs- maybe difficult for old folks . The queen bedroom is adequate for two and outside the bedroom sits another queen bed bf you climb down the spiral stairs . There is a gorgeous sunset on the lake and you can also go canoeing . There is a restaurant on site that serves breakfast , tea , lunch and dinner . Overall a wonderful stay and will return again . Perhaps the owners may consider a full refund say in the event of a cancellation 1 week or 72 hrs prior but not in the form of vouchers which are difficult to use for overseas customers .

This is in such a lovely location and really is a hidden gem. On Friday night there was a singer in the resturant and although we only went down for one drink it was a lovely atmosphere. We had breakfast in the restuarant and that was nice food. My girls loved getting back to nature and the outdoor kids playground there. There was amazing sunsets at night across the bridge too.

My Girlfriend and i spent a few day here in one of the cabins overlooking the lake and enjoyed every second of it. Cabins were big ,clean and had everything one would need for a few days rest and relaxation. Thank god there were no families with kids near us so the place was quiet and comfortable as we sipped the local wine in front of the log fire and looked out over the lake. Service was tops and food was also great and we will return next year.

Our wedding at Evedon was just perfect, from the lovely gardens and comfortable accommodation to the delicious buffet lunch, the Evedon team excelled in every way, any request we had large or small was no problem. We love this venue and will be returning for our anniversary. 👰🤵💐🥂❤️

Great setting. Terrific friendly staff. Top cuisine. Brilliant winter stay. Had heard from friends that it was a terrific place for a getaway. It's more than that. Apart from the accommodation, in a beautiful setting, the retreat is a tribute to Tony Jenour and his extended family. What was one of the biggest pleasant surprises was the quality of the restaurant food... superb! Will definitely return in Spring. The cabins, overlooking the lake are perfectly set up with two bedroom, a bathroom, and kitchen. There is good Wifi and mobile phone coverage.

We were very disappointed with our experience at Evedon Lakeside Retreat, this property is not a Retreat, it is more a run-down back packers and way overdue for refurbishment. At a cost of $250.00 per night on weekends & $220.00 per night mid week, plus $25.00 per night for each additional person including children we expected far better. Entry to the apartment from the car park is down a steep uneven rocky staircase that is quite dangerous. The areas outside the apartment is old & dirty. Internally the apartment was small, with a very narrow and unsafe spiral staircase to the upper lever into an open area with 2 single beds going through to a small bedroom with an old uncomfortable double bed. Many things were not provided which would be expected at the high tariff charged. It was very cold, the only heating available was an old wood fire from which smoke wafted into the apartment, this was not set ready for lighting and instructions to collect your firewood from the wood pile some distance away and leave the wood baskets full on your departure. The bedroom was too cold to sleep in so we moved to the beds in the open area, where there is a long skylight window without curtains, so we had an early wakeup. An electric blanket on the bed would be a good addition. The bed was old and uncomfortable, with thin floppy worn out pillows, no bedside tables or bedside lights. All of the lounge seating was old & very uncomfortable. Everything in the kitchen is old & mismatched. An old small table is pushed against a wall with 4 chars that look into a dark face brick wall. No coffee pod machine or coffee plunger provided. 5 instant coffee sachets, 5 tea bags and a small milk. The rooms are NOT serviced daily as we would expect at this high nightly tariff. The TV was very small, old & only had free to air TV channels. No DVD, CD player or streaming, the internet worked ok but very slow. At this tariff we expected bathroom amenities, tissues and there was NO hairdryer. The entry door when closed rattled with the wind continuously, causing a cold draught of air into the apartment. There did not appear to be any smoke detectors. On the verandah there is no privacy. There was 4 old plastic chairs and a small wooden foot stool for a table. There are two fire pits in front of the apartments where a group gathered at one and partied on with loud shouting & swearing and singing & obnoxious music until after midnight with no consideration for other guests. We did not have an emergency contact to complain to and were not willing to approach the noisy revellers, fearing our security.
