Amazing two night stay. All staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, nothing was to much. Food was beautiful, both dinner and breakfast. The homemade yogurt, was the best I have ever tasted. Atmosphere was friendly and relaxing. The room was nice and quite.The pillows were lovely and fluffy and duvet was cosy and want to purchase the same for home, had the best night sleep. Thank you for a lovely break away.

We booked in for a two night b&b deal with an evening dinner on the 1st night, to coincide with our visit to Highclere. A great three days - breakfast great, supper great and the staff were just excellent, nothing was too much trouble - even sorting out the coffee maker which was a nightmare. This would have been a five star review if the coffee machine did anything at all more than once…….. Thankyou especially to Amy the new manager for her attention and service

Fantastic Sunday lunch and great service provided by Amy. We chose this location as it was convenient for a group of friends travelling from all over the country. Really pleased with our choice and we are looking forward to returning in June.

Stopped here for lunch with friends and a small child. The Sunday roast was absolutely superb! The head chef has really outdone themselves. We each had one of the meats offered (chicken, pork and beef). They were all absolutely fantastic. Well seasoned, large portions. Absolutely delicious. Pudding only two of us had, both selecting the Eton Mess which was just as lovey as the mains had been. Well worth the trip! Will be returning

The Carnarvon Arms have recently had a refurbishment in all of the rooms. The rooms are fresh, clean and spacious. The bed and the pillows were amazing. The food and drink here is also very good with a huge selection and top quality, the food is always hot and freshly prepared and of amazing quality.

Wow, what a great place to stop just off the A34. We arrived an hour before our booking for a late Sunday lunch. We received a very warm welcome and were accommodated. We had the sausage rolls and beetroot hummus from the bar bites for starters, then the roast. This is probably the best Sunday lunch we’ve ever had out. Two had beef and two the pork belly, the meat was tender and flavoursome and the veg were fantastic. We were hoping for a dessert but we’re too full, next time.

Excellent lunch in a great pub. Very pleasant and efficient staff. Food was nicely prepared and tasty. A comprehensive menu with good choices. Would heartedly recommend to anyone visiting the area especially Highclere Castle which just down the road.

Nice place to stay, food very nice and hot, breakfast very good, staff excellent and hard working. Room 104 bathroom a bit small, If you are having a sunday carvery here I would suggest get in early as it seems to sell out pretty quick......which means that the carvery is very good. I would say an 8.5 out of 10

The ploughman’s for £20 was a sausage roll, one small block cheese, ham terrine slice and two slices bread and some salad with some cauliflower ! No onions, no gherkins, no more than one cheese for £20 ! Not even an apple slice ! Three ploughman’s & one ham and chips and 4 drinks nearing £100 not great for basic food. No check back, no sauces offered, young’s you need some work. Will never return, funny we have a young’s pub where we live that has been taken over by them and that’s gone down hill as well, such a shame !
