Painted Sky Inn

Beautiful, spotless, comfy. Lots and lots of birds! Over 20 different species heard from our deck, and even more flying along the lake coastline. Mid-week and everything was quiet and peaceful. Note: the tiny house is very very very tiny. Approach with caution (we upgraded to a larger room after trying it out).

The place was just what we were looking for. The accommodations were clean, felt updated and the wifi was excellent. The grounds were well kept and pleasing to the eye. The check-in process was set up to where all we had to do is show up. Check out was just as simple and there was no "chores list" of things to complete before we left. The attendant was also very friendly, attentive and ready to help us if we needed anything. The fishing dock was a pretty cool setup, the weather wasn't great but we still managed to catch several fish. We will definitely be coming back to Painted Sky!

What a beautiful location and great place. I was part of a group that rented this out over the Eclipse. Our rooms came with eclipse glasses, flashlights, and a great break down of things to do. Erica the manager of the property is very helpful and thoughtful. The owner Josh was great communicating ahead of time on our needs. We stayed in a two bed unit facing the lake and loved the door out to the back overlooking the lake, it was one of the best sunset's I've ever seen every night. The fishing pier with the swings was another favorite spot, and their grill area was great for cooking dinner at night. We came with plans to go into Austin or the town of Burnet and ended up staying at the property the whole time because it was so comfortable and peaceful. The beds were so soft and comfortable and the room was so quiet we heard no one else. Would absolutely come here again.

For a secluded getaway this place can’t be beat!! Super clean room, and great views of the lake. Friendly and prompt staff, all amenities were available. Great parking and secure location. We can’t wait to come back in the fall with the rest of our family and friends.

Comfy beds, wonderful views, the bluebonnets and Indian paint wildflowers on drive in were epic on the farm road. (Like why 281 used to be years ago). Kitchen well equipped with Keurig and mr coffee with plenty of coffee/cream/sugar-sub/packets, private gated entrance and private boat dock & fishing pier with clean station. They even had Cornhole, ladder toss, even a deck of cards found in the room, and 2 hammocks around the property. Plenty of outdoor chairs overlooking beaver creek inlet into lake Buchanan. Bluebonnets in the landscape and overall appearance is nice. They're cinder block buildings but well decorated. Rooms 1-9 are in the inn style building and 10/11 are a 2 story building and 11 has a private 2nd floor balcony/stair entrance with 10 under on 1st floor. BBQ pits & grills all over the property and as far away from town/restaurants is a good option with the kitchenette. Highly recommend a spring trip here.

The Inn was very nice clean and had everything but food. The room had a very beautiful view of the lake. I enjoyed the swings on the fishing pier. I would suggest that everybody needs to go during Bluebonnet season. The beautiful view of the lake and bluebonnets was just breath taking. Thank you.

This place is truly a piece of heaven. Very serene and relaxing. Erica has been most helpful and attentive to all our needs during our stay. From helping at 1:00AM with checking in to providing water for us.. She was really kind and one of the best!

This is a great place to stay if you are a fisherman. Otherwise, keep in mind this is an old cinder block facility that is run down. When we arrived late at night, hundreds of bugs were swarming our door and entered the room with us. Bugs were everywhere…on the bed, walls, ceiling. The basics of the room were clean (floor, sink, bed), but the walls, baseboards, light fixtures, etc were dirty. It needs a deep clean. The AC is a window unit. HUGE NEGATIVE: there are french glass doors with flimsy plastic blinds that let in blinding light with sunrise, making it impossible to sleep. It’s literally like a spotlight shining in your entire room. If you get up at the crack of dawn, it’s great. If you arrive at 3:00 am and need to sleep in, it’s awful. Positives: it’s beside the lake, and there are dozens of deer around in the evening.

Great stay! Both rooms we reserved were super clean! Pretty scenery right off the back porch of the room. We cooked out one night on the grill. Plenty of room for our family to sit outside and talk while enjoying views of the lake . Or sit and have coffee in the mornings . Gated property . Helpful friendly staff . Would definitely stay here again !
