We stayed at the Ship inn following a party on Saturday 5th Nov. We were checked in by a really nice young man who showed us to our room. Room was lovely and clean with a mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, fresh towels and an iron and ironing board. The nice gentleman advised we needed to order our breakfast as it was ordered in and delivered from the cafe up the road. We were told we could have room service, have a table downstairs or go to the cafe. We chose to have room service at half ten. We arrived back to our hotel at 5am (we don't go out often) and I set my alarm for 10:15 so we were ready for breakfast. Little did I realise this wasn't necessary as at 09:50 the started hoovering on the landing outside our room taking no consideration for smashing the hoover head into the skirting which then echoed around our room!! Then at 10:10 our breakfast arrived in a just eat equivalent bag in a brown box. I quickly jumped up out of bed hair all over the place and answered to door looking quite dishevelled retrieved our breakfast and shut the door. There were no plates, no cutlery and neither if us were in a state to be walking around the pub looking for any!! The bacon was amazing but we were unable to eat the sausage, tomatoes, beans, egg and sauté potato's with our fingers. The toast was brown which my husband doesn't eat and had little to no butter on it!! We then at 10:55 had another knock on the door to be told housekeeping would be in at 11!! Why ask what time you are going to want breakfast and then arrive 20 min early, if we had said we wanted it downstairs it would have been freezing cold!! Why do housekeeping before people have checked out? They only have 3 rooms you check out by 11 can't check in till after 3 surely 4 hrs is sufficient time to get ready for the nxt customers? Such a shame, but we won't be returning there are other local hotels with equally good ratings.
Excellent
