Don't stay here - we had to at short notice hoping it wasn't going to be as bad as the reviews stated. It was. -quite extensive black mould in the 2 bedrooms we had and both shared bathrooms -window blind mouldy and broken - chair in our room frayed and dirty - dangerously positioned extension plugs eg beside sink and hanging precariously from the ceiling - NO HOT water apart from at the kitchen sink and electric shower - a trickle for a shower in bathroom with a window - broken tap faucets - radiators not switched on so bathrooms cold but electric heaters working in our 2 bedrooms It looked derelict from outside and we passed it a couple of times before realising it was the Hostel. It is a privately owned hostel and the owners have made no investment in the place for years. It isn't cheap either, to reflect the poor standard. Avoid if you can. Location is great - with some time, effort and money it could be a fabulous place.

Grim
Cheap but very grim. Owners haven’t spent a penny on it forever. Nothing finished even the fitting of the floors or removing old furniture. I don’t mind cheap and I don’t mind rustic, but strikes me of money for nothing.

Hostel Not Hotel
I did get a room to myself as expected but it was a bunk room with little in the way of furniture. I cheap double bed with thin mattress, 2 homemade bunk beds that sees mattresses on the floor and some lockers. No wardrobe, no chair etc.
Whilst I appreciate that this is a hostel not a hotel, I did pay a hotel price for my room. The room itself the windows did not open so getting ventilation was difficult.

The bed was comfy, though the room was worn and not very clean. The bathrooms were similarly well worn and not particularly clean. One shower was out of order and the other was barely working. It was very cheap though.

Staff engaging with good advice. Everyone, including visitors, happy to chat. More basic building but everything else makes up for it.

Top notch hostel
We stayed after our visit to the Causeway. It was lovely. Clean, welcoming, unpretentious room, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent value.

The location is quite good and the people at the reception were nice, but everything is so old... It really needs refreshing. (Like the bedroom, the showers with a broken sink, broken toilet, etc.) I guess the view is nice and the price not too high.

This is the worst place I have ever been to 3 of us arrived to a shared room that was not clean with lockers full of food and stuff from previous visitors . The bathroom/ shower room was disgusting and to be honest was a total disappointment. We could not stay and moved on to a better place down the coast. Beware of booking here they con you into booking non refundable and pay all up front so that they don't need to give you a refund when you arrive and realise it's a horrible house . I know it's a hostel but it ain't cheap and there are better cheaper options in bushmills and balintoy with clean rooms and en suite .DO NOT GO HERE IT IS JUST BAD.
