"Good location and nice staff.
Hotel room is pricy but it doesn’t reflect on room. Hotel room is enclosed by partition walls so can hear people chat in next room. Air conditioner is extremely noisy. I cannot sleep well.
Hotel room is very small. Toilet is even more terrible. It has been small but still using electrical toilet seat. It make toilet bowl even smaller. I cannot poop properly. Then showering area is very small. The shower curtain keep sticking to my body during bathroom so that I can bath. Shower head and the mount is lousy. They keep loose out.
You can see my ceiling. It looks like those building which is lacking of maintenance."
The City Hotel (Beicheng Dafandian) is conveniently located near stations on the Taipei Metro's Orange and Brown Lines. Taipei Songshan Airport, which offers flights to other parts of Taiwan and some Asian destinations, is a short drive away.
"Such a charming little place with super convenient transport! And it's great value for money too! The only thing is, the decor has a bit of a retro vibe. Let's put our heads together and turn it into the absolute cutest spot! 💖"

"We would definitely come back! Room was spacious. Location is prime and just 2 minutes away from the Taipei Metro Station. Another 2 minutes away from the National Museum.
Surrounding you have decent number of eateries and there is a shopping mall just across the street. There is a food court on the 11 & 12th floor with a good place to get some local food as souvenirs and of course a supermarket.
The hotel comes with a business lounge to have your coffee or tea. Laundry to do your necessary washing.
They collect TWD1000 as refundable deposit.
And offered 3 complimentary beer vouchers.
We stayed for 2 nights and apparently housekeeping service is not offered."

This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling alone.
"Cosy stay with nice facilities, the surroundings may have a stench sometimes due to the underground location… also apparently towels had to be loaned and not provided although overall the room was clean and proper."
"Our second time staying here while visiting Taipei. We made a repeat visit because the location is great, around 5 minute walk to Ximending market. The hotel itself isn’t too big, there’s only 5 rooms on each floor so there’s also zero noise, very suitable for a light sleeper like myself. The amenities are quite limited (I believe due to the new regulations?) but enough, you get shampoo, soap, water jar to refill filtered water and snacks to keep your stomach full. They also provide breakfast coupons which you can pick the place of your likings (I recommend Mos Burgers).
Also the staffs are really nice and helpful, always smiling and eager to help every time you walk in. And if you love riding buses, the hotel is near the main road where the bus stop is, there’s also a park next to it, and some local restaurants no one really talks about.
Oh, and Family Mart, 7-Eleven, coffee shop are across from the hotel. On the left is also 2 famous bubble milk tea (50lan and Milksha). And Watsons is right on the corner."

"A great choice for solo travelers. The capsule bed is clean and they even have more storage for you to keep your things on the head side of the bed. Very convenient so we don't have to go back and forth retrieving our stuffs from the luggage. They also have mirror on each capsule (very thoughtful!). Free flow of hot drinks and snacks in the kitchen and they provide free bread at 7-10am every day in the mornin
The location is very strategic, not even 500m from the M8 gate of MRT Taipei Main Station. Tips for those who are arriving in Taipei by airport MRT, TRA or THSR, do not make the same mistake as mine by taking the main exit from the station building because you need to cross the street by using the bridge. Just look for M8 MRT exit (escalators available) and you'll be fine."

Outstanding
GGuest UserThe view was fantastic, with a clear sight of Taipei 101 in the distance. The room had a convenient table, perfect for a quick bite or a drink. Since it was an anniversary celebration, the hotel kindly provided a bottle of champagne, which really set a lovely atmosphere. The staff were all polite and had excellent service. And the breakfast was really good too! ♡

GGuest UserThe location is very near to main station. Twin sharing room with friend was a bliss as both of us have our own tv, like our own private resting place. The only thing need to highlight is the signage to locate our room number. We couldn’t find our room (which is at one of the corner) at the beginning as it is not within the range of the signage. Overall room stay is okay.

AAnonymous UserEnjoyed our stay so much that we booked an extra night to rest and roam around before our flight. Super convenient access to the airport rail. Y13 exit has a ramp, escalator, and elevator. East Gate of Taipei Main Station, where Klook tours depart, is also just a short walk away so that was a big plus. My husband enjoyed the latte from the free coffee machine. Great beef noodle (Liu Shandong) and stinky tofu place (Ah Qua) also nearby. Highly recommended at the price point. Will stay again. Guests who have difficulty walking and using the stairs might want to reconsider.

SShuxiaThe location is fantastic, right behind Shin Kong Mitsukoshi. The elevators and front desk area look a bit dated, but the staff were decent. They put a large bed in the room, but because the room was small and the duvet wasn't warm enough, I got cold in the middle of the night and had to turn off the air conditioning. The kettle had dust and limescale marks. However, the bathroom was really clean, and the toilet was modern. I was genuinely surprised and impressed that the shower had two types of showerheads. It's a very good budget hotel. I'd definitely consider staying here again in the future.

SSurana SukumaranBetter than expected. It’s quite good for the price. It’s not bad. Is clean. Basement room is fine (do not book the single room - my friend booked that and it’s tiny!). The hotel has a nice style. I liked it actually.
What could improve : slippers are crap - like wearing a plastic bag (how much does a reasonable one cost ? 1$?). Chair should add a simple cushion to make it look better and cozy. Noise of water flow in toilet when someone above uses toilet is a bit annoying.

SSiva Rama 256Check in takes only 5 minutes and check out much more faster with 10 seconds with a self check out machine that will suck in your room card.
Check in gets faster with your reply to the property telling them what type of room you have booked and what time you'll arrive. With booming businesses and too many bookings, the staff might get entangled in mess, so partially you reply is helping them to get grounded and avoid mistakes.
The property is clean, neat, nice and next to easy transport and family mart and 7e.

LLuv to travelDue to its strategic location near Ximenting, this hotel commands a price premium. However is it really value for money? Not really.
The sound proofing is really bad. We were given rooms at the 3rd floor. You can clearly hear the noise from traffic below and even louder conversations from pedestrians along the street, including a lunatic screaming vulgar curses at the hotel from the ground floor at 2.10am.
Supposed to be equipped with laundromats (for a fee) but these were down the three days we were staying there. Breakfast was mostly Chinese selections with toasted bread and pastry choices.
Reception was robotic, no smiles, all following an SOP which they don’t deviate from. All your questions have been anticipated so you should be patient and hold them. They will be answered at the end.
Honestly no one needs to stay near to Ximenting for the entire trip, with subway and public transport so convenient. And you don’t go there every night so cast your net wider and you have more choices with better service and comfort.

AAnonymous UserThe location is pretty good, very close to Beiche/Ximen Station, and there are many convenience stores, fruit shops, and restaurants downstairs. The only drawback is that I specifically booked a room with a window, but when I opened the curtains, it was just a solid wall, LOL, I was speechless!

AAnonymous UserLocation: 5/5 – Nothing to complain about. The metro entrance is right in front of the building. However, the hotel is located on the 7th floor, so you have to share the elevator with other occupants of the building. As a result, the wait time for the elevator can sometimes be a bit long.
Room Size: 4.5/5 – The room is relatively spacious compared to other hotels in the same area.
Check-in/Check-out: Quick and efficient. However, the check-in time is 4:00 PM, which is later than most hotels, where check-in is typically between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
Public Areas: The room itself was not very makeup-friendly (there was no vanity mirror, and the yellow lighting made it difficult to apply makeup). However, the hotel provides a public makeup room with large mirrors and bright lighting, which was a great touch. I’ve never seen this at other hotels before!
