Having not been to Byron since 2006, I came for a night with a friend. We didn't want to be spending in to the 100s for a room we would only sleep in. We opted for the Cape Byron YHA. For $70, we got a twin room with a double and a bunk. The room was pretty bare, no TV - But it had a clothes hang/store area / mirror / enough plugs for the 2 of us. The bed was comfy and the covers were clean and warm (you have to ***** the bed upon check out). There were 3 or 4 showers in the block on our floor, same for toilets - you needed the swipe card to get in - again clean, warm. The kitchen area was large - this grossed me out a little - but it's been a long time since I backpacked Oz and needed to cook for myself in such. The pans were old and pretty grubby. You had to get your plates etc from reception - but we had ours with us. The tea towels were rank - I wouldn't use. The worst however was a bloke in the kitchen coughing all over the place - not the hostels fault, but nasty nonetheless. Needless to say, we didn't go sit and eat by him - we ate on our balcony which had a table and 2 chairs. During COVID-times and no flights coming in to Oz, this hostel serviced a range of ages - I am 40 and there were people older than me there. I found the hostel more like a motel. Good location and good wifi.

This was our first holiday in more than a decade. We booked a Boutique Suite because the bathroom looked clean/fabulous and to be honest, the rate was excellent compared to other places that were charging exorbitant amounts. The resort is minutes walking distance to the beach, boutique stores, cafes, restaurants and convenience stores (there's also a Woolworths) heading away from the main centre. I would've loved to give it a better rating, however, the KS bed in the Boutique Suite we booked, was average. It was too soft and made a huge indent when my partner lay down (and he's not even fat or obese). As a result, he had a back ache that triggered a headache during our three-night stay and was counting down till departure day -- not exactly the mindset you want while on holidays. I was OK with the mattress because I have a petite frame. The newly renovated bathroom looked as it did online -- luxe and modern. However, whoever the ”genius” was who did the renovation, positioned the toilet roll holder towards the back, rather than the side, so when sitting down -- you have to turn, twist 90 degrees to grab the toilet paper! The hand towel rack is positioned where the toilet roll holder SHOULD'VE BEEN placed. There's no towel rail either and you have to rely on the flimsy retractable clothes line that sags towards the bathtub once you hang two towels. There's secure underground parking in the basement with a height limit of 2:03 metres. If you have a roof rack, forget it. It's quite a small and narrow area space and if you do have a 4WD like we do, make sure you do a wide berth turn or you'll hit the railing near the lifts (you can see it's taken a beating by previous guests who evidently had no spatial awareness). Most of the parking spaces are narrow. On our last night, the remaining spots were too narrow but thankfully, an elderly couple saw our struggle and offered to relocate their car to another space, allowing our 4WD to take up two spaces. There's no breakfast but the place offers tea/coffee and fresh fruit, which is perfect because, let's face it, when you're surrounded by cafes and restaurants, why try to compete? It's great because guests are usually on the go anyway. Check-in is quick and easy. The staff are warm and friendly. Just don't ask the young casuals, who blow their cover that they're not a local, where to find the best place for croissants/pastries. The person on duty asked their colleague (another non-local) and anyone would think I asked them where the nearest unicorn farm was located. We were given A MAP. (LOL) Would I return to Waves Resort? YES but I would upgrade to either a Deluxe or State Suite (there's also a Penthouse). Hopefully the KS beds in these rooms are better than the one we slept on.

The hostel is very close to Byron Bay. When we entered the hotel, the staff told us that we would upgrade our reserved room to a double bed room with a separate bathroom. I feel that the price is still quite high. Later, she also recommended a special dinner with the hotel on the top floor of the hostel, but when we were full of expectations, we were told that the event was cancelled. In fact, its pattern is more like a backpacker station. There is a large public area where you can cook. But what impressed me the most is that I didn't know who put the milk in my refrigerator in the innermost and almost didn't find it. The soundproofing of the room is not very good, and you can hear all kinds of buzz from the public area at night. Since the store used a guarantee at the time of booking, it has not yet been returned to the account.

The hotel occupies the best location, going out is the main beach of Byron Bay, downstairs is the most famous bar in the local area, and hotel guests eat and drink 10% off. The restaurant supermarket can walk, very convenient. The hotel service is very thoughtful and welcoming, there is a handwritten welcome letter, the room is spacious and decorated in Art Deco style. It is estimated that there are very few Chinese people who book a trip to Byron Bay on Ctrip. The reviews are all translated from English, so they are not very useful for reference. I will write a few words here for reference in case there are people who know this place and want to travel there.
First of all, there are very few Asians in Byron Bay. For those who just want to check in at a certain place and take a photo to post on WeChat Moments, it is quite boring here. It is recommended to go to Bali or Phuket. The place is simple and not high-end. The hotel we stayed in... The whole Australia is almost the same - the hardware is old and shabby. The decoration of the all-seasons level is very good, at least it should be considered a four-star... There are not many attractions, so Asians who are afraid of the sun can take a detour.
This hotel is old and there is no daily cleaning. It is an ”apar**ent-style” hotel, which means that you live in an apar**ent and you are responsible for cleaning and taking out the garbage during your stay. It is clean and tidy inside, but it is really too old. The tableware, cups and plates are all large and small, and they are all pieced together. Anyway, practicality is important, and other things don't matter. The location is very convenient, very close to the main beach and the downtown area (but these places are usually crowded and relatively cheap).
However, there is a restaurant on the main beach. Every afternoon, happy hour costs more than 30 Australian dollars, two glasses of wine + a large plate of fresh shrimps, which are large and delicious. It is a good deal. If you say you will come again tomorrow, the boss may not be happy...
Walking out of the hotel, on the busiest street outside the main beach, I drank white wine and ate oysters in several restaurants during happy hour. I found that the price of oysters varies greatly, and some are twice as much. If I don’t explore and compare, I really don’t know.
Back to this hotel, the overall target audience should be backpackers. From the perspective of this group, it may be very satisfactory. Therefore, a hotel that matches your spending power and feels cost-effective is a good hotel. We booked the hotel late, and there was no room at a suitable price, and the available rooms were too expensive to accept. This was the only one, so we chose it.
It is also a kind of fate.

Generally nice looking place with plenty of free parking (otherwise in very short supply in Byron) and a big kitchen. The room itself was fine apart from the thin foam mattress leaving something to be desired. Just make sure you arrive with the expectation that other guests will show minimal consideration in terms of nighttime/early morning noise and cleanliness in the common areas.

The location is good, it is attached to the road and close to the center. We had taken an accommodation with a room with a large bed and a bunk bed for three that we were going and our surprise was that they gave us a much better and larger one with two rooms, one with a double bed and the other with four bunk beds, living room, bathroom, toilet for the same price. I think it was because we didn't have Wi-Fi because of the floods that had occurred, but a great detail on his part. The facilities very well. There are courts to play tennis and they provide you with the material. There are common areas where you can have a meal with many people equipped with refrigerators, tables and benches, sinks and even a toaster and kettle, as well as a drinks machine. It has a beautiful park for children and a swimming pool with good hammocks. In the area where the washing machines and dryers are located, they have put a large stall to hang clothes, since it is forbidden to hang them on the folding stalls that are in each accommodation. The personal is ver kind and helpful. The general impression is very good, in fact we would return for sure if we lived here, but in any case we recommend it.

This is an amazing place. They’ve taken an original motel on the old pacific hwy and made it such a cool hotel. Rooms are spacious and incredibly the clean. Booking was simple, the pre arrival contact was super professional and the staff are seriously good. The girl that checked me in was so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the pub, which is a destination in itself. Whenever I’m working in Ballina or Byron I make this my stopover.

DDeparture25754531749Positives: Large room, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom. Walking distance to cafes and restaurants and the beach a short walk away. Negatives: No microwave or toaster. Only one chair for the long desk. Oned face cloth in a room for two and a towel holder would have been appreciated. No biscuits and street noise was a bit loud. The man at the desk was obviously having a bad day as he was a little too abrupt, and again when speaking to him on the phone. Asked about a compendium but no because they' get stolen.' Now while there are a number of negatives, this was somewhat based on our 4th night of travelling and we wanted to save what we thought would be 'the best'. We'd stayed in regional towns out west which I believe were better even though smaller.
Mmilou pI walked into this hostel with a friend because we were looking for a place to sleep and work. The manager did everything he could to make this happen even though it's not what they usually offer. We had the best time in the hostel. The people are amazing, super friendly and do everything to help. The rooms are clean, the beds are super comfy and the showers are great. It felt like home and it was very hard to leave this lovely place.
GGuest UserLocation was good. Place was ok. Bathroom was below average. Reception services were not at all satisfactory. We reached there around 17:30. Lodges are a bit tricky to find. We were very surprised that there was no availability of reception services.Even on messaging they were very slow to respond, In my experience if one likes to stay then should arrive in normal hours. If arriving late then be prepared you may not be able to contact anyone hence can land up in prepared for unforeseen problems. The location and place is quite good.
YYUEYIThe room is not big, but the kitchen equipment is quite complete, there is no problem in cooking for yourself! Booked for two big and one small occupancy, so it is a double bed + a single bed room type. Good choice~
杨杨It is less than 2 kilometers drive from the Byron Bay Lighthouse Scenic Area. It is rainy on the cloudy day. It feels very quiet after arriving at the apartment. There is no waiter. You need to pick up the key in the small glass box on the side of the garage. When you make a reservation, you will be reminded of the precautions when you arrive at the apartment. The key deposit point will be sent by e-mail. There is a plank road across the road from the apartment to the viewpoint. If you are driving by car, you can go to the lighthouse to see the scenery and there is a paid parking lot. The wind was so big, it was raining, don't have some fun, a little regret, I couldn't see the sunset. You can drive to the town near the apartment to eat and shop. You can also buy something in the supermarket to come back to eat. There is an induction cooker, but there is no smoking machine. Booked for 3 people, room with balcony, but only one big bed, the other can only sleep on the sofa.
GGuest UserThis accommodation may not be the most chic or modern place in Byron, but if you are looking for a central location at a reasonable price, it's definitely worth a look. The biggest drawcard is probably the spacious apartments in a convenient but quiet location in the Byron town centre, with underground parking to avoid the street parking fees. It's only a few minutes walk to the main shopping area, and slightly further to the Main Beach. If you're on a budget the in-room cooking facilities are also a plus. Given its location, the rooms don't have views. The pool area is a bit basic and there are some aspects of the complex that are a bit dated; and the carpark can be tight for manoeuvring. One issue in my room was a skylight above the loft bedroom. It had a blind to stop the morning sun waking you up, but this was awkward to access and it looked like a tool to assist with this was broken, meaning you had to lean out some distance over the drop to the ground floor which was not entirely safe. Hopefully this can be rectified with a safer option. However I had no issues with the overall facilities, cleanliness and so forth. The price at the time of my stay was definitely competitive compared to some of the more fancy accommodation, and the size of the room was definitely much better than many similarly priced motels nearby.
GGuest UserCabin were small for the price $150 night, beds were good, air-con worked well. Good size 📺 TV. Very quiet park in terms of no noises guests during my stay,so quiet, found it strange no children here, no playground! Small pool but nice. What bother me with the cabin, was right next to toilet and shower block, so the outside lights are on the whole night and shined through the side window. For a week stayed, you would think they put me in another cabin. Didn't mention it as couldn't be bother to move after day 1. I found this park good location, short walk to shops, through the side lane of the bus port. The staff were nice and helpful if you needed anything! I found the park quiet boring and Byron wasn't the place for me, not sure what the fuss is about Byron! Beach were average and cafe very tactic looking, Woolworths centre was nice to visit. Some nice looking clothes shop! Been all around Australia, Byron would have to be my least favorite place and that's a week I won't get back 😕
Wwander41We spent 3 nights in the villa Yarrawarra that had everything you might need. The pool itself could be cleaner because there were a lot of leaves and even a crab in the pool. It's a bathroom after all. We've been happy to remove the crab and we'd have removed the leaves but there was no net to do it. This should be done daily but it was not hit within 3 days. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable and it is very comfortable and very comfortable. I don't expect this for the price I paid for accommodation. As our transport would not recover us before 12 hours. 30 hours we asked if we could store our baggage until we were recovered. We were informed that this was not possible because other customers had arrived and the property needed cleaning. There is no baggage. I think that could be integrated into the villas. We had to walk for 2.5 hours under the burning sun with 2 small bags only to go home and sit out on the ground while waiting for our transport. This just took the edge of a very relaxing stay.
Arrived at Motel only to find (after a frustrating look-around) a pamphlet on one of the Motel doors to head to the Middle Pub in Mullumbimby to check-in and get your Security Key. It can get extremely busy at the Pub and patience is required as it depends how many staff they have on. A sweet young woman was run off her feet serving Patrons as well as checking-in Motel clients. Easy check- in, only took a couple of minuets. Parking can be ‘tight’ on site but plenty of parking out the front of Motel. Ask them about Wifi BEFORE you leave Check-in! I didn’t and spent a while trying to find an ‘info’ folder in the Motel room (they don’t have one) and had to ring them up to ask where the code was for their Free Wifi. Ours was stuck to the main mirror on a very small tab that you could be forgiven was non- important. Check out the photo I have posted. If you zoom, you will be able to make it out on the mirror bottom left… Super impressed with our room. Queen plus single beds…. Main room was clean, tidy and smelling fresh. The only negative I have was the Bathroom is abit dated and unfortunately had mould in the shower stall and on tiles. It didn’t look like the walls were cleaned either. Air-con was good, small T.V, bar fridge nice and cold. Great sleep and key went into Secure Box downstairs when we left.
