Alua Suites Las Rocas

Me and my friend visited Alua Suites for a 4 night stay, we booked half board too. Upon arrival we were very pleased with the appearance of the hotel and the reception area however it went slightly downhill. The reception staff didn’t provide much information, we paid €26 tax which we didn’t know much about, we also paid €2 for a plastic cup token. There is a drinks procedure for round the pool regarding plastic cups we were unsure what to do with our tokens or our cups as reception didn’t give much away. Next our room was across the road from the hotel which did have a seperate pool/ bar area that was lovely and quiet. Our room appeared great upon arrival however there had been very basic cleaning completed as surfaces and the bathroom especially looked very dirty. There was lots of bugs and an overpowering sewage smell throughout the entire room for the whole duration of our stay. The water from the showers and taps is also salt water which can be unpleasant after a long day in the sun. Cleaners come regularly, sometimes at awkward times, one morning we were awoken by the cleaner entering our room despite us not answering the door and having the do not disturb sign hung. She looked at us asleep and laughed/ran off when we responded to her saying hello. The pool area had stunning views and there were regular pool games you could join in with if you wished, as well as a pool bar which does take CARD ONLY for those not all inclusive. The restaurant area was not great at all the food was cold and had flies landing on it for each time we came back. There was very limited choice and none of it looked appealing to eat, in addition the crockery and cutlery was dirty covered in leftover food and a grease layer. We ended up avoiding the hotel and paid more than intended having meals in resturaunts around the resort. Overall the hotel is very lovely to look at and does appear stunning however it is extremely basic/ potentially overrated and can do with some upgrades to make it a better experience overall for paying customers.

Returned home yesterday. Hotel fabulous. Area and local shops bars restaurants gr8. Staff are friendly and helpful Nikki is a star. Would return cleanliness is 10/10band l am soooo fussy! Don't hesi6 just book its brilliant. Thank u 2 all the team

We had a lovely room (B318) beautiful sea and main pool views, amazing for watching the sun rise, room was immaculate and cleaned daily, always plenty of clean towels The hotel it's self is brilliant and I would 100% return, we were all inclusive and it didn't have the biggest selection complared to other hotels we have been at but we never went hungry and what was there was good quality The water in the taps and shower is salt water as much as I wouldn't drink the water anyway the shower being salty wasn't great especially for washing hair, we also had a power cut for a few hours one night which wasn't great but obviously these things happen no huge deal just abit inconvenient But despite this it wouldn't stop me from returning, good location, plenty to do and see within a 10 min walk, staff all very friendly and entertainment team are amazing and work very hard and some of the night time entertainment was fab, never had a single issue getting a sunbed at any of the pools, could go down at any time of day and get a bed no problem

We got room A209 and it had a lovely sea view. Our basic needs were met: the room was clean, we got enough towels everyday, the food was good (we booked an all inclusive and we enjoyed every meal of the day). We reommend this hotel to everyone who wants to travel around Mallorca, because it has everything you need for your stay

Visited an Alua hotel in Minorca 2 years ago so knew the chain was good. Stunning location, rooms very spacious, we got lucky getting 2 sea view rooms overlooking adults pool in A block, views fabulous. Unlike some reviews, couldn't fault the food and drinks (red wine ) or the air con in the rooms. Yes it's the older "in the wall" type as opposed to units attached to the wall but still did the job required. Housekeeping spot on, and reception staff all friendly and helpful. Learning the basic holiday phrases helps build a rapport with staff, which in my experience results in good service. A little effort goes a long way. Do have to agree with comments that water in bathrooms is a bit salty, but you wash in it not drink it so no dramas, however the water dispensers in lobby and pool bars did have a strange taste, but spar shop was only 3 mins walk away. Cala egos commercial area a further 3 mins, and cala egos beach another 10 minutes. Closest beach, es Pou a 5 minute walk, and marina another 15 beyond this. Unfortunately an electrical problem meant no water or air con for around 5 hours one evening but thankfully this was sorted by 11pm but this wouldn't stop me recommending the hotel

We have just returned home from Alua Suites Cala Egos on Friday the 6th of September on first impressions the location the room and pool areas were great! The views are amazing and the bar area and entertainment are good. The food area outside however for snacks wasn’t so great the food wasn’t covered and had flies buzzing around it so we didn’t eat there. The main restaurant was good a reasonable choice. However on the Wednesday the water went off completely with nowhere to shower or flush the toilets all day and evening so we couldn’t shower to go to dinner but it couldn’t be helped I guess. Then on the last day Thursday before we flew home on the Friday we had lunch in the main restaurant on the late sitting which was chicken, we were AI so didn’t eat out, later that day we started feeling ill with stomach cramps so did not eat dinner on which was the last night which was disappointing, by then the cramps had progressed to much worse symptoms of food poisoning. All 3 of us myself my son and my daughter came down with it and when we got home we had an A&E visit and 2 visits to the GP and we are still suffering on day 5! It’s a shame that the cleaning and hygiene of food seems somewhat lacking and lets down what is a lovely hotel. I suggest going for the early sitting for breakfast and lunch as the food will be warm and hopefully bug free! Be careful gastroenteritis is not what you eat be coming away from your holiday with as we sadly found out.
