Lago Resort Menorca - Villas & Bungalows del Lago

We’ve just spent a very relaxing six night break in one of these wonderful villas. May is the start of the season in Cala’n Bosch so they were clean and in excellent order. There are four villas in total that overlook Cala’n Bosch marina, one 4 bedroom and three 3 bedroom. We were in Villa 3, a three bedroom. They are built over a row of restaurants, but as we were there for the first week of the season, they were the only restaurants not yet open so there wasn’t issue with noise, but I could see it may be a problem later through the year. The large terrace overlooking the marina is equipped with patio furniture, sofa, coffee table etc and a large dining table and chairs. There is also an electric awning over the dining area. Off the terrace are two pairs of patio doors, one into the lounge and on to the master bedroom. The lounge diner is quite large, although there is only one sofa and an easy chair. There’s also a small dining table. There is a TV, but only one English Channel, Sky News. There’s a well equipped kitchen with full size fridge freezer, oven and induction hob along with kettle, coffee machine and toaster, not a great selection of pots and pans though. Bedrooms are a decent size with plenty of storage and a free to use safe in the master bedroom. The master has a king size bed, two singles in the second and bunks in the third. There are two shower rooms/WC’s. The en-suite has a very restrictive column next to the loo! All rooms have individual remote control air condition/heater units. Patio doors lead from the kitchen area to the large, very private pool area with four sun loungers, a Balinese bed and two large parasols. The pool was clean, around 14’x8’ and from 2’6” to 4’6” deep. It’s not heated, but we were there from 2nd May and it was quite comfortable after the initial shock! There is a maid service, she called daily to see if we needed anything. There are bath and pool towels provided for six people, as there were only two of us, we didn’t need any extra or changing. There is a private gated car park behind the Villas thar are charged at €10 per day. Highly recommended.

This is our 30th year visiting Cala n Bosch. We’ve always rented a villa just outside the main area as we were a family with children. This time it was just my husband & I so we opted to stay on the marina. What an absolute gem these bungalows are. You initially check in at the main reception for the hotel. They then issue you with a wrist band that provides access to the locked gates & the door to your bungalow which is a short walk away. Great size bedrooms with really comfy beds. First class aircon. Spotlessly clean. Housekeeping came round every day. Towels changed & pool towels provided. I agree for self catering the kitchen space is basic at best yet one lovely family we met managed to do a full cooked breakfast every morning!! The bathroom is great. A really powerful shower, excellent hairdryer & really good quality toiletries. Superb pool & surrounding area. The pool does slope quite steeply & would perhaps benefit from a hand rail. Really comfortable sun beds…a few with parasols. There wasn’t a day when we couldn’t get a sun bed. We met the loveliest people ranging from young families to a mum (80) & her son. It caters for all ages. It is perfectly situated to go out walking & exploring or to stroll around the marina & visit the numerous restaurants & bars. Would we return? 100% we would.

We went July for a week mum, dad, 14, and 17 year old. We booked a villa so the teenagers could stay in bed and we could be at the pool and outside sunbathing rather than the battle we have had previously. We arrived at 2. Villa ready at 3 so left our luggage and went for a drink for an hour. Check in is down the road at the hotel. The check out was 12 but we left before for our transfer. You each get a wrist band that lets you into the gated complex, then keys for your villa. The villas are clean and tidy. Lots of towels, loo roll, washing up liquid etc. lots of toiletries in the bathroom, enough for all week. The cleaners come every day and can’t do enough for you. Nice coffee mugs and wine glasses were a great touch. Plus a full size fridge freezer. Great for the Ice for the drinks. The location is great. At the side of the villa a few steps take you straight onto the marina, we were in villa 3. This is full of restaurants and bars with supermarkets so you have all you need at 10 paces. We did no cooking and ate out all week. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook if you wanted to but mums week off so out we went. Having the pool was great and the sun loungers and Bali bed to hand ment you didn’t really need to leave the villa. The front patio overlooking the marina was fabulous. Nice to have your coffee on a morning watching it come to life. Even better at night overlooking the evenings and the buss of the marina. Still busy at 2300 but not so it would disturb you if you were in bed. We went to the lagoon pool that the bungalows share and this was a good size too. We would definitely return again as it suited our family and you just can’t beat the choice the marina has to offer. If you’re thinking of booking just do it. You will not be disappointed

These bungalows are fabulous. Spotlessly clean and in a great location. Comfy beds, very powerful shower, and a spacious outside terrace with sofas and a table and chairs. I have 2 negative comments. Firstly there were only 19 sunbeds round the pool. Nowhere near enough considering there are 12 bungalows, each sleeping up to 4 people. Beds were being reserved as early as 6.30am and on one occasion there were 13 beds reserved at 7am, only leaving 6 beds for anyone else. I did mention this to reception on check out. Secondly there was no plug in the kitchen sink and for a resort so eco friendly I was surprised at this. I mentioned it to housekeeping on my first day and I saw the girl mention it to a supervisor but I left after 10 days and still no plug...therefore i was washing up with a running tap wasting huge amounts of water during my stay. Would I stay here again...not sure as the sunbed situation was horrendous.

The bungalows and the complex they sit on are lovely. I do think as we were slightly out of season, we didn’t get to experience the resort at its best. On arrival no one seemed to be expecting us, and no one was aware that we had checked out as the main resort wasn’t open to guests yet, so did feel like an after thought. There was no communication that the main resort was closed at this time of year, so we weren’t aware we wouldn’t be able to use the additional facilities, which was something we hoped to do. The resort itself is lovely, but if travelling before May, be aware that very few restaurants are open, so limited choice at this time of year.

11/10. Exceeded our expectations. The most perfect property and location for our time in Menorca. Highly recommend. From staff to amenities with access to the adult only adjacent resort amenities, gym, spa, free yoga in the morning, amazing calm and picturesque pool, short distance to the beach and restaurants, quick drive (or bus) to La Ciutadella, and I was able to go trail running directly from the place, really everything you could ask for a perfect getaway.

Had an amazing 10 night stay (package holiday booked via Jet2), 2 adults 2 children (9 & 12 years old). Transfer on the coach from the airport was about 1 hour 15 mins but it was fine. Accommodation was fantastic, best air con ever in both bedrooms and the living room. Kitchen area is quite small but that wasn’t a problem for us, as we didn’t cook. There’s a microwave, nespresso coffee machine, toaster, kettle, plug in electric ring and full size fridge freezer. Beds were super comfortable, safe provided in the master bedroom (free of charge). Towels and pool towels provided. The pool was the perfect temperature Pool area was never overly busy and we were always able to get at least 2 sun loungers, no matter what time of day (we were there during UK school summer holidays). Inflatables etc. were allowed in the pool. Whole resort is kept spotlessly clean. Location was superb, literally 2 minutes walk to the marina where there are many good restaurants and a couple of bars, we never heard any noise from our bungalow, despite being so close. Nearest beach is a pleasant 8/10 minute walk, plenty of shops / local supermarkets nearby. I would definitely recommend a visit to Ciutadella, very easy to get the bus. This was our second visit to Cala’n Bosch and I hope we will return again one day. Bungalows del Lago will take some beating, they were fantastic!!! One thing to note, you need to check in at Suites del Lago, which is a 2 minute walk just around the corner. I must mention the amazing staff who kindly located and posted my diamond ring back to the UK, after I stupidly left it in the safe! They were absolutely amazing and went over and above! Thank you

Excellent peaceful apartments, located 2 minutes from Marina. The apartment was very clean, comfortable beds, excellent air con. We requested a couple of items our first morning (cereal bowls and an iron) and both were delivered to us in minutes fantastic service. Apartment was cleaned every day. Check in was a little confusing you check in at the Adults only Suites Hotel which our taxi driver hadn't heard of before. Pool was small but kept our kids entertained. There was never any issues with sunbeds always plenty available. Our little boy did get a rash from the chemicals used in pool and had to seek medical attention. We travel several times a year and this has never happened before. So just something to be mindful of if you have sensitive skin. Beech was 5 minutes walk away. It's a busy beech, you can rent sunbeds for 20 euros for 2 with umbrella. There is also a nice walk around cliff to another beech. We got bus into Cuitadella bus stop 4 mins walk from hotel, a lovely old town worth a visit with great restaurants. Overall a wonderful stay here and we would most definitely return.

We stayed as a family of four at Lagos Bungalows for nine days. The bungalow was clean, comfortable, and spacious, with a good shower and excellent air conditioning—both of which were very much needed! The bungalow was also cleaned daily. While the pool area is on the smaller side, it never felt overcrowded, and we always managed to find sun beds. I also appreciated that they provided pool towels, saving us the trouble of packing our own. The standout feature of this accommodation is its fantastic location. It’s just a stone’s throw from the marina, where you'll find plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops. We highly recommend Noray Restaurant. The only downside for us was the pool water. It wasn’t treated with the usual chlorine, and whatever they used caused significant skin irritation for both of my daughters, particularly under their arms and around their shoulders. My youngest had to visit the doctor because the irritation became quite inflamed; she was prescribed medication and advised to avoid the pool for a few days, which was disappointing. Neither of my children has ever had a reaction like this before. They were only in the pool for about two hours on the first day when the irritation started. A few other parents mentioned similar issues with their children, though not as severe. The pool water also caused extreme dryness and matting in their hair. We reported it to maintenance, and they checked the pH levels, which were fine, but we’re still unsure what caused the reaction. Despite the issue with the pool water, we had a wonderful stay at Lagos Bungalows and would highly recommend the accommodation.
