The room was very spacious. Hygienic and clean. Booked a sea view room, the balcony faces the sea. The sound insulation effect of the balcony windows is very good. There are many places to eat nearby. Carrefour and Lidl supermarkets are within walking distance nearby. Each person needs to pay an additional tax of about 1.5 euros when entering the store.

Our experience at the Akquaaa was wonderful. What a perfect place to start a family vacation! Our room overlooked the ocean and was comfortable. Everyone that worked there greeted us warmly and helped us in a variety of ways. The hotel itself is situated so you can walk in either direction to find a place to have a drink or shop, or take a stroll. It was a very safe location. We found parking. Always ask about parking not matter where you go, but they do have a parking area and a spot to drop off your luggage before you park your car. Dine at the Restaurant Akquaaa (Costa Dorada Calafell). It was fabulous! The steamed clams were the best I have every eaten, my husband loved the sardines, and the Tagliata de entrecot de ternera a la brasa con chimichurri y rúcula was delicious! You can have the breakfast spread or order off the menu. So good. The Akquaaa Hotel and Restaurant should not be missed. Pay that extra for the ocean view. Well worth it.

We had never been to the town of Calafell so we decided to make it a weekend adventure and we could not have been more pleased with the hotel, the location, the comfort of the room, the support for your body with lounge chairs, terrace, firm mattress and conforming pillows. Couple this with a staff that is multi-lingual and concerned in making your stay memorable and you have an adventure to be personalized.

A great place to work during the day. Wonderful inside and outside seating for sun or shade. Solid menu (the passion fruit Catalan cream was a standout!) for lunch or dinner. And excellent service from the staff. Felt very welcome, and kept coming back for more than a week because of it! Immediately on the beach after a day of remote work because the location is so good. You have to go a long way in any direction to find anything else that comes close to this place. Kudos to the team.

My husband and I used this wonderful hotel as our office space for two weeks while visiting the area, dining at the restaurant most days for lunch. We loved the experience- the staff is tentative and very friendly, and the food is very nice. I had the crispy avocado salad many days in a row and loved it! The hotel is right on the beach with a beautiful beach view from the restaurant, and an outside dining area perfect for afternoon drinks by the sea. We will recommend this beautiful space to any friend travelling in the area.

We are local and have been to the restaurant multiple times since discovering it last October. The space is bright and modern and right on the beach. We've enjoyed some spectacular sunsets and beach scenes along with our dinner and drinks! We discovered that they have live music every other Saturday night, generally light jazz or bossa-nova - pleasant dinner music. We try to catch as many music nights now as we can. The restaurant has added staff and the service has been extremely attentive every time. In particular, Ilyas always takes great care of us. The food has been absolutely on-point every time. My wife favors the Rodaballo (Turbot) but the Veal Tenderloin is my favorite. The appetizers are especially good and offer some great fusion flavors. There's also a daily menu offering (first and second plate, drink, and desert or coffee) for midday meals. There's a sea of restaurants along the beach there, but if you want really upscale food and experience with a beach view, this is where you go. Prices, surprisingly, are pretty in line with the more casual dining options nearby. The restaurant is not large, so I'd recommend reservations and highly recommend the live-music nights.

EDIT: The manager tried to blackmail me by offering me a refund only if I deleted all my reviews and gave them confirmation of it (see picture for his email). Clearly they do not care about customer experience and it makes me wonder about the other reviews. We have never had such a horrible experience at a hotel, let alone at a “boutique hotel”. The room was not as pictured online. It was super small, with no space for our luggage. It was absolutely dirty with hairs all over the bed, pee or blood-stained sheets, a dirty floor and shower, and the staff was extremely rude. Especially for such a new hotel, it is unacceptable. It honestly ruined our whole experience in Calafell. The long version: We decided to “splurge” for this hotel because it was New Years Eve and we were visiting family. We booked the room for two days for 322 Euros. We arrived and immediately noticed that the room was not like the pictures advertised online. We returned to the receptionist and expressed our frustration. She was extremely rude, nasty, and confrontational. She showed us pictures of what our room should look like. I said that that was absolutely not what we got and said she should come upstairs with us to see it. She said “I don’t need to go up, I know all the rooms at this hotel”. I offered to take a picture upstairs and bring it down to show her. Again, she said no because she 100% knew what the rooms looked like. Finally, I convinced her to come upstairs, to which she realized that she was, in fact, wrong, and we had a different room than what she showed us. She then switched her story to saying it didn’t matter because that was the normal room. We were disappointed at what we got, but as it was the day before New Years Eve, we had no other option, especially as they said a refund was not possible. We left our stuff and went to go meet our family. When we returned late at night, we noticed how dirty the room was. The floor did not look cleaned (see pictures), and there were tons of dark hairs (see pictures) all over the sheets. Along with that, whoever made the bed used the wrong sized sheets, as the sheet was not long enough for the blanket (see picture). We went downstairs to complain, and the man working the desk was lazy and rude. He answered with “Come on, it’s 2:30 am.” We said “Exactly, we would also like to be in bed sleeping, but we are unhappy with the cleanliness and the sheets”. He gave us a new sheet for the bed, and once we took it upstairs, we noticed there were gross stains all over them. We went back down and showed him the stains, and instead of apologizing, he said “Come on, you are at a hotel, what do you expect”. The next day, we were told by reception that the manager said we could just leave the hotel if we were unhappy. At that point, it was already New Years Eve, and it was too late to try to find a new hotel. There was never an apology for anything. No one tried to make our stay better, nothing. My son and I was here 2 days from 6 till 8 august (room 32). Everything was really so good: stuff was so nice, room was really good with nice sea view. Wi-Fi is really crazy good, never saw like that in another hotels. Cosmetics are perfect (Ritual) everything for usual stuff like toothbrush, comb and etc🫶🏻and therefore we’re decided that we would book this hotel for two more days. unfortunately the prices are very high this “hot” season(208 euros per night) but we decided that this hotel is worthy for a couple more days of staying here. Free rooms were from 10 till 12 August. But..How frustrated and disappointed we were. We were given a room on the 1st floor, the sea view was not the same, but this is not the biggest disappointment. (If to be honest I guess they need to make rooms on the first floor cheaper). We didn't know that but Umbrellas on the beach must be booked in advance! and no one told us this during 3 days. We came to the beach, paid for the sun loungers and after 5 minutes we had to leave, because it turns out that other vacationers have booked all the umbrellas. (That’s how we’re figured out about the booking)We wandered along the beach in search of an umbrella like homeless...And the reason is that no one just warned us about this important nuance. In room 11 the fridge doesn’t work so good (it was +33 degrees outside). The sink drain didn’t hold water. But of course, these are not a big deal ... you can buy cold water in the store, and washing clothes without all that stuff, it's not a problem... I recommend in such cases at least make some kind of compliments to their customers🫤 Anyway if we back here again, then I hope I won't be disappointed next time. And even though they didn't tell us anything about the above, the staff are very nice.🤗
