In planning for my daughter's wedding, my wife made a trip last year to scout out the venue and she couldn't praise the location enough. So we flew the family out for a week before the event to relax at the resort. What a mistake. It is a popular location for events in the community, and if you don't care about cleanliness, when it's YOUR day for the event, you have the staff's attention. But if you are merely a paying guest on a day when someone ELSE is having an event, well they will just smile and say, "Sorry! We can't help you because there's an event!" So on our second or third evening at 7pm, when we arrived to the resort to have our evening meal, the answer was, "Sorry! The kitchen is closed! We're having an event!" and they said said they had decided to ALLOW us to order food in!! Only problem is, they are outside the delivery area of ANY restaurant. We had no transportation, no food and a hungry family and the resort staff's answer was, "Sorry sir!" Yep. Yours is a very sorry operation. One of the main reasons we booked was what my wife described as a crystal clear pool, which was accessible 24/7. When we arrived, their "infinity pool" was a dark green, murky mess, full of coconuts, insects and leaves. It was infinitely, disgustingly filthy. Their pool maintenance plan is to "vacuum the pool every day." How about running the filtration system, and using water balancing chemicals? I made the mistake of actually getting in the water to try to deal with the overwhelming heat, and to prove to my wife that I wasn't upset (I was) with the state of the resort. And the slime on the steps caused me to slip and fall and injure my foot. You can just sit in the lounge chairs next to the murky pond, if you're interested in being dinner for ants. And if the disgusting, filthy pool isn't enough to dissuade you, I made the mistake of requesting a top sheet for the bed. Apparently that's not normal, because I had to request it. Expect to sleep without a sheet. And you'd be further ahead! I got my sheet and left it folded up on the end of the bed. Later that night after the air conditioning had cooled me off, I flipped open the sheet in the dark and spread it out over myself and went back to sleep. In the morning I saw... well... I genuinely think someone died in that sheet. There was a pooled stain covered with mildew and mold that I had been cuddling up in all night. OMG. Expect there to be NO internet in the rooms. You will have to at least go outside, or up to the main reception area to have a hope of a connection. They run the event centre nearly 24/7. Don't plan on sleeping here, because they will be yelling, and singing and testing the P.A. system from 5am - midnight. And your room backs onto the event centre, so when they're yelling and singing and testing the P.A. system, it sounds like they're yelling and singing and testing the P.A. system right in your room WITH you. And the cherry on top, when it came to b

I was invited by the Provincial Government to provide a talk to youth leaders in the province. They booked my stay in the Mahalta Resorts and Convention Center in Calapan City. My stay was great. Even though the area has a limited internet connection due to difficulty in the signal because of the nearby mountain, I still managed to work even online while at the resort. I almost spend my working time at the restaurant even until the evening. Their rooms are themed. The one that I stayed in was themed with oldies. The resort staffs are accommodating and friendly. Whenever I was at the restaurant, they always offered me brewed coffee. The food was also great! I even had great pictures of the meals that they served to me. The place is good for family-closed gatherings since they have privacy. I am looking forward to visiting the resort because of the people who worked there.
