Lovely place to stay, great food and very welcoming and friendly staff. Room was immaculate and home like, 24 hour coffee machine. Would definitely stay again, located just off the high street in Callander, local pubs and restaurants near by.

Virtually everything was very good indeed during our two nights here The location was great, very central but quiet at night. It was easy walking distance to Callander's attractions as well as the shops, restaurants and bars Our room was very comfortable with a decent TV and tea and coffee making facilities Breakfast was great with lots of choice for either a cooked or continental breakfast. There was a coffee machine and hot drinks were available throughout the day at no extra cost. Fresh fruit and biscuits were also always available There was plenty of free street parking nearby The owners were very nice people, friendly and helpful For us the only downside was that our shower was very weak and in addition became very hot or very cold for no apparent reason

We loved Highland Guest House. It's in a perfect location in a great little tow. Our hosts were wonderful, friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, the breakfast was fantastic, and another guest lounge had supplies of tea, coffee and fruit available during the day. We found many wonderful walks in the area, great meals in the nearby pub and lots of interesting shops in town. This guest house was also the best value accommodation we found on our holiday in the UK.

We are just home after 2 nights stay in the Highland house guesthouse were we had a wonderful , relaxing stay . Our room was on the 2nd floor and yes the decor is slightly tired but it was spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water so in my eyes that is the main thing . Our hosts were both lovely warm friendly people and nothing was too much trouble for them , we instantly felt welcome and at ease when we arrived . Breakfast both days was lovely and there was plenty of it and plenty of choice . We will definitely stay here again if we return to Callander .

Located in the centre of town, Jan was very welcoming, where the bed was beautiful & very comfortable. The room was warm, but the toilet has no heating. What let the room down was the shower, which had a lot of mould, the shower head wouldn’t stay up, the mould in the shower head didn’t allow proper water flow, and we just couldn’t get a good temperature. Breakfast was good, with fresh fruit, yogurts, and a cooked breakfast. No sausage, but definitely filling, with an excellent ground coffee machine available all day. You could do worse than stay here, but sadly, I have stayed in much better for the price.

Absolutely loved it. I go up to Scotland every year to visit my family and I stay in different places every time I do this so I can get a different experience, however, I think I have found the perfect place and those "moving around" days are done. Jan and her husband were AWESOME hosts and the breakfast chats were brilliant. It was a warm lovely place to stay. I look forward to staying again next year.

My wife and I and our 18Y/O daughter stopped here for two nights in July. Our rooms were located on the top floor, one overlooking the front and the other the rear of the property. The rooms were very tired and the lined and towels smelt fusty. At breakfast on the first morning we were offered a cooked breakfast, however there was no sausage on the list of items, so we asked if we could have a sausage. "we don't do sausage" was barked back at us ?? in quite an aggressive manner. Bizarre ! The breakfast was OK, but everything is brought to you and its not very generous in quantity. Our breakfast the following day I requested 2 poached eggs on white toast, " we only do 50/50 you can't have all white, was barked back at me. A French gentleman with his wife and daughter were sitting opposite us and he asked very politely for a boiled egg. ' We don't do boiled eggs so no you can't " was snapped at him. Our opinion is that the people who run this do not want to push themselves to offer a nice experience. The minimum will do. One the good side the property is on a quiet side street and we found it easy to park and the stay was quiet at night. However I cannot recommend this guest house and would not stay again.
