Hotel Winneshiek is beautiful, well maintained and extremely clean. Built in the early 1900's. Lots of charm.

I always choose this hotel for the downtown location. Free parking and walk all of the downtown. The lounge is excellent for group gatherings although it doesn't open until 5:00.

Recommend choosing another location. This hotel is badly in need of an upgrade. It's saving grace is it's location and friendly onsite staff

gorgeous old hotel located on the main drag of town, walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants.Lovely spacious comfortable rooms. Friendly helpful staff.

If you come to Decorah, you need to stay at Hotel Winneshiek. It's right in downtown Decorah where the shopping and food is easy to walk to. The hotel may be old but it has a lot of character and much closer than the other hotels/motels. The morning breakfast is great with pre-made croissants with fruit, yogurt, breakfast bars, coffee/tea, etc available. The bar was fun and the staff was personable. We'll come back to Hotel Winneshiek the next time.

We highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the area. The staff were "small-town" friendly. Very kind. And the beds were very comfortable. Thank you for making us feel at home.

The location is just a few blocks from Vesterheim Museum where I was visiting. I love the old-fashioned elegance without a hint of shabbiness which might accompany an old hotel. My room was quiet and the bed linens were so comfortable I hated to get out of bed.

Bar manager was extremely unprofessional and should not be in the customer service business. It was acknowledged throughout the entire evening by multiply guests at the wedding. Very rude in how he communicated with customers. The bartender upstairs was overwhelmed. It clearly showed in how she too communicated with customers. Not a pleasant experience.
