I originally booked an apartment on BOOKING, but found it was cancelled for no reason the day before check-in, so I booked AC Hotel on Ctrip. The hotel is very good, the front desk staff is very friendly and speaks good English. There is a large shopping mall and a large supermarket next to the hotel, which is convenient for shopping. It is about a 5-minute walk from the Stadium subway station, which is convenient for travel. The room is very quiet and the facilities are relatively new.

It is a good hotel if you go by car because then to go to the center you have to take public transport that is not very close and also if you go with your family it is more profitable to take Uber!

We recently stayed at the AC hotel for a long weekend and overall enjoyed ourselves. We were in a room with two twin beds and the pros and cons are listed below: Pros: - Get the breakfast, it's worth the convenience. - The hotel is more or less connected to a mall with a food court and grocery store (Continente) at the bottom which makes access to food very easy - The staff were very helpful in what they could control Cons: - If you get a twin room, as of 26 June, there is construction scaffolding all along that entire side of the building so don't expect much of any sort of view for what there is to see. The hotel is outside of a major highway so there isn't much to look at in the first place. I wish we would've been told about this during checkin and we could've decided if we wanted to keep our type of room or book elsewhere - Other than the mall, there isn't much around the area to see at all. Pretty much all of the major attractions and activities for Porto are located to the south 20 minutes away. Do not stay if you're looking to walk everywhere. - The twin room is extremely small. The beds are less than 5 inches apart and might as well be one bed. - The only storage is the closet and that is limited. Your luggage will likely be in the way, pack light. - The placement of the outlets are strange, one over the mini refrigerator where you can purchase the small snacks or drinks, one underneath the TV on the far side of the room and one next to the bed. For two people it makes it a bit awkward and limiting. - The bathroom door isn't a door at all. There is no latch and has a gap in between all sides. It's essentially a frosted glass swinging door that goes both ways. That being said, there is no real privacy and you can hear and smell everything that goes through that "door". Pack a spray. Overall not a bad stay but for the Porto experience and convenience I would book elsewhere.

I have experienced a substandard matter during my stay. I stayed for business and need to work long hours in my room. Like all business travelers, tea and/or coffee is a must, right? There was no tea in the room and as they said coffee was limited for 3 capsules/day for the machine in the room. Marriott is my first choice in all business and pleasure travels and have never heard such a "coffee limitation" in the room service! Sounds very awkward. I wish hotel management changes this unfriendly policy. Best Regards

Dear Julio Warm Greetings! I am writing to inform you with regards to my current stay here at AC Hotel Porto and I must say this has been very disappointing so far. We were checked in by Carlos and I would like to commend him for making sure a smooth check-in process. However, all went downhill after we checked in. First, we were not aware that there is a construction on-going at the hotel and were shocked with workers walking by. The response from Front Desk was in an hour time (we checked in around 4-4:30pm) this will be stopped. As a guest perspective, I honestly do not think this is a solution. So i suggested that I would like a room change. Of course, the room change involved quite a lot of hassle and eventually, I made do with a queen bed as I really am here for a holiday just like any other guests and would like to enjoy without noise and an unobstructed view too. We then headed out to have dinner after sorting out the new room. I would have thought that a new mobile key would have been sent to me as well. I monitored from dinner until I came back to my room, still there was no change in my mobile key. Luckily, there was a physical key given to me so that I can access to my room. When I head to have a shower in the new room we checked in, guess what. The conditioner was empty and I was already showering half way. My family had to call the housekeeper to have a bottle sent over. My first thought would be, is the room even a cleaned and inspected room? How can there be no conditioner being filled up? When the housekeeper arrived, luckily my family was standing guard at the door, if not the housekeeper would have wanted to come into the bathroom to refill the bottle. He eventually brought over a new bottle so that I could use. I went down to the reception to express this concern and I would thought that proper solutions or empathy is given but I was pretty shocked with the reply from Nieves at the Reception. First, I had to tell her to update the room number so that I can have my mobile key sorted. FYI, I would have thought that proper identification is needed but she did not ask for this. Next, I shared with her about the whole issue of the conditioner and her response to me was, “this is a small issue and I have a solution for it.” Yes, it may be a small issue. But this should has already been avoided in the first place. When I spoke to her about the construction view, she mentioned that in the reception emails to guest, would have fine print stated that there is construction. I told her that I only received the standard Marriott Booking confirmation and I view it from my mobile, which is an ease for Marriott members. There isn’t any indication of a construction happening and neither was it informed to me on check-in. So, should I be blamed for this? I requested to speak with a manager and she told me that the manager will only return on Monday as it is a holiday tomorrow. Of course, I had to ask for your email so that I can sha
Response from Property: Dear Ms Tan, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We genuinely appreciate hearing from our guests as it helps us to continuously improve our services. We understand that the ongoing maintenance work on the walls of our hotel may have caused some inconvenience due to noise and scaffolding on at least one side of the building. Please be assured that we are making every effort to minimize the impact on our guests, and we strive to provide advance notice of these circumstances both on our website at the time of booking and during check-in. Regarding the issue with housekeeping, we sincerely apologize for any oversight on the part of our colleagues. This matter has been promptly addressed, and the necessary measures have been taken to ensure that such incidents are avoided in the future. In regards to your mention of mobile check-in, we regret any inconvenience caused during the room change process. If you prefer to utilize the mobile key instead of a physical key, please do not hesitate to inform our staff, and we will be more than happy to accommodate your preference immediately. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced during your stay. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to our hotel once the renovation works are completed. Best regards, Costumer service Hotel AC Porto by Marriott

The bed was very comfortable, the air-conditioning worked well, the breakfast was copious and the service very friendly. If I have a quibble, it's that floors weren't cleaned in my room, and that the restaurant menu wasn't extensive. Since the hotel is a bit far from the centre it would have been good to have wider choices in the menu, especially to do with Portuguese food. But a very good hotel overall.

Great stay at the AC hotel Porto- located close to plenty of dining and public transit, but parking is a PAIN! Needed a home base to explore Porto for 3 nights, and this hotel offered the perfect mix of affordability, convenience, and amenities. Located at the outskirts of Porto, its fairly easy to get to, and they have a very small parking lot with limited street parking. So if you park, don't move your car or you will be hunting for a spot. Small lobby on the first floor, but staff are kind and efficient, getting you to your room and explaining amenities fairly quickly. The bar / restaurant is excellent with friendly staff and great service, and the credit included for elite members makes it even better. However, no free breakfast which is a bummer. The rooms are basic, but comfortable. Could always be a bit larger, but got the job done. Wifi worked well, and decent amount of English channels on the TV. Water pressure was excellent. Would definitely stay again for affordability, but something in city center is a bit more convenient.

Modern, clean property with helpful staff at front desk. Elevators a bit slow (only 2 for 11 floors) without direct stairs access to restaurant on first floor. Good TV and Radio selection in multiple languages and excellent WiFI. Excellent beds and rooms. Breakfast is well done with lots of variety with Nespresso and other European coffee choices, but terrible "American" coffee (which is typical). Located on the outskirts of town by the FC Porto's home stadium so not convenient to the historic center but close to expressway. Overall, an excellent choice unless you want to be close to the old town.

This hotel gets mixed reviews, but we actually had a great stay. The hotel is very clean, quiet, next to a shopping mall and a 5 minute walk to the metro. A 10 minute metro ride drops you off right in the middle of Porto. As someone else noted, watch out for the elevator doors, the close with a vengeance. Did not have the breakfast there, and instead had breakfast at a coffee spot in the mall next door. Toni, the front desk clerk, was awesome. He had great suggestions for us and tips on getting around town.

Hotel I arrived on Sunday evening, we were informed on arrival that the restaurant was closed on Sundays and the sauna was broken. I sit on the c-suite and a global leader for a multinational organization with 30,000 staff. The trip was for a business meeting where I was presenting to a large number of staff in Porto. I phoned reception for an iron to press my shirt at 0730. The meeting was at 0900. I was informed that house keeping did not start until 0800 so I could have an iron delivered until then, but promised one would be delivered straight after. 0810 no iron so phoned again and promised it would be brought to my room straight away. 0825 no iron. I phoned reception again, this time I was informed they only had ten irons in the hotel and they were all being used and they could not guarantee when an iron would be available. Eventually I received an iron that was next to useless. Consequently I was late for my presentation to staff that I had travelled from the UK to attend! Restaurant and breakfast is 2 stars at best. You cannot even get an omelette or fried egg. I had dinner one evening at the restaurant and ordered chicken breast with vegetables. It tasted like it had been cooked in old fat that had previously been used to burn something. Consequently I sent it back and went to the shopping complex next door to get food. This hotel is in a preferred list that my company use. Due to the terrible experiences and poor management at this hotel, as a c-suite member, I will be ensuring this is removed from our list of designated hotels for future travel by staff.

The staff was very nice but the hotel is very old and run down. I have stayed at AC hotels in the US and this was not what I was expecting. The location is not near anything, we had to take a taxi everywhere. They have free parking but there was not any available. They did have an onsite garage you can pay for which was nice at least
