The good - Great location, friendly staff. Not so good - VERY small room, terrible water pressure from the sink tap, phone in room didn't work so had to go to reception with issues, no cups, no milk, no spoons in room, couldn't hang up more than two items in what passes for a wardrobe [no doors, just a rail] because the safe was in the way, breakfast service was poor on both mornings - waited 15 minutes and when no toast arrived reminded the staff and then waited another 5 minutes, no small teapots left so they brought a giant pot which was badly stained, hash browns were obviously left under heat lamps for what felt like a year..., the hotel is also pretty noisy in that the walls seem to be very thin and sound travels too much between rooms [I was woken by a guest in an upstairs room snoring] - oh, and the BELLS! Nowhere during the booking process does it mention that you WILL be woken EARLY by the bells from the cathedral [you might assume that anyway, I didn't due to the renovations currently happening, it wasn't obvious that the bells would be in use, so it would be nice to be forewarned - I would have stayed elsewhere had I known and I guess that's why they don't tell you] and finally, if you're on the ground floor the windows don't have any way to protect ones privacy without closing the curtains, so be prepared to either sit in the dark or parade in front of passing guests
