cant comment on the hotel rooms but went there after a funeral, when we arrived they were not ready for us and we were told to wait in a room next to the reception when i asked if we could get a coffee while we waited i was told no, after a while we were told the room was ready, i was expecting to be taken so some kind for function room but we were taken to the area where they serve breakfast to their guests, the people who arranged to have the wake there had asked for food/snacks but none of this was in place when we went in and did not turn up for sometime and there was no cutlery or condiments, forks were provided after they were asked for but i never saw any salt or pepper or anything else that would have gone with the food, it was an early funeral and we arrived there at 10.30 and expected to have a coffee first and a drink afterwards, we were expecting the bar to open at 11 o'clock but when i asked the guy who appeared to be opening up the bar if i could order a drink i was told the bar was not open, i also believe that the people who had arranged the wake had requested that wine be available to toast the dearly departed but this was not provided either, due to the poor treatment and lack of the bar being open people started leaving and there was still no way to get a drink when i gave up and left at mid day, you may be thinking that they were reluctant to open the bar in case we got rowdy but the funeral was for a woman in her mid 80s and there was nobody at the wake under about 60 so we were not looking for a wild party just a glass of wine or a G+T or a pint of beer, the staff attitude gave me the impression that we were an inconvenience to them and the lack of an open bar seemed more to do with the fact that there seemed to be very few staff and no one to actually work behind the bar and nothing to do with the nonsense i was given about licensing laws as we had walked past several open pubs on our way there, i certainly will never visit this establishment again.
