As soon as we arrived, we were informed of a deposit that was never mentioned while booking. After watching others check in, discovered the cash deposit was only charged to African American guests. Had to pay cash as they said they couldn't accept certain credit cards. Automatic door to the lobby was broken and barely opened. Unsafe. Elevator was very shakey and did not display numbers to indicate what floor you're on. Trash in the hall was overflowing for over 36 hours before being changed. Ice machine didn't work. Smelled awful. Room had stains on the walls and floors and the bathtub faucet did not turn off, just leaked constantly. Bathtub had hair and mold. On night 2, we asked for more towels as we were only given 2 and were told there were none until noon the next day (after checkout). Staff at the front desk had her infant child on the service counter playing with her and another running the halls while trying to check in and out. Seemed out of it. Had to ask for more toilet paper, got locked out of our room on night 2 - apparently their system makes them reactivate your card every day. Breakfast was unsanitary and cold. Very limited options and no assistance when asked. Upon trying to check out, staff made claims that we smoked in the room (NEVER would we.) Staff dug through our trash looking for a reason to not return deposit. Refused to give manager info, refused to give any proof of any damage, refused to give documentation of not giving back deposit. Gina at the front desk was VERY rude and inattentive.
