South Seas Island Resort

The facilities at the resort were entertaining. The pools were refreshing for the summer heat. My favorite place to eat was the Harbourside Bar & Grill. The location was nice as it was right on the beach and only a few minute shuttle ride to some offsite restaurants/ bars. I would stay again.

Resort is pretty much still a construction site

While we understand you are still getting things back to normal after the hurricane…the property near our rental was in terrible shape. They were rebuilding the deck/walkway to the beach and there were large areas missing boards which made our toddler trip and fall. The grounds around our unit were unkept; overgrown bushes, trash and debris scattered randomly throughout the property. The stairs and outside of the unit was in terrible shape as well. Just horrible all around for the price that you charge. Also, you should mention that the nice pool/club area is over a 5 minute drive from the units you rent! According to the pictures and description online, the beach club was on site near the rentals. We are highly disappointed in our stay.

It’s shabby. Property needs maintenance. It’s not worth paying so much for a run down place with no services !!

It was a construction site. Debris around buildings, in our stairway and common areas. Construction noise started before 7 am. Construction workers living in the guest buildings and very loud. Amenities a minimum at best.

I need a 3 bedroom unit with the number of ppI I travel with. I understand that hurricane Ian was devastating here in Florida, when you are booking a room with 9 days they should notify you that the property is not ready for vacation guests. We were put on the 3rd floor and they have elevators, they are just out of service and that was not disclosed at checkin. And construction starts at 8 am on the dot. No matter the hammer drills and chop saws and again no mention at check in. Units have full kitchens but be prepared that they are very cheaply stocked for cooking necessities. Floors were filthy in the unit had to ask for them to mop 3 times, washing your feet before you got into bed was a necessity. They came and mopped with a “swiffer” that was just as black as the floors when they started. If I were an owner of these units and the way the managing property management company is handling them I would truly be upset. They are definitely not Ada compliant. When bringing any of this to the managers attention the tables were turned that I didn’t reach out once we checked in, I didn’t realize some of it for a day or two, I called front desk and they do not answer, you leave a message and hope they get back. Offered a discount for next trip.. Still here for 3 days what about now.

Our family of 5 stayed in a beach villa and it was fantastic. The unit was updated, very clean, and just a golf cart ride away from all of the amenities. The main pool was great with the pool bar reopened, a great food truck for lunch, water slides, etc. This was our first visit since Hurricane Ian and we were amazed by the progress. The food on the resort is limited, but there are several great restaurants opened close by. If you are thinking about visiting South Seas this summer, go for it. You won't be disappointed!

Very friendly staff. The amenities that have opened after the Hurricane are great. Weather was perfect. Great dining out on Sanibel and Green Flash Captiva.
