Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa

We visited Tween Waters as my daughter selected there for her wedding venue. Many of our wedding party and guests also stayed at the resort. Can't possibly say enough great things about Tween! From the room, to the restaurants, pool and beach it all was really quite perfect. The staff at Tween was amazing, all made us feel special and appreciated. We had a fabulous stay!

Pros: Great location just across the street from the beach. Great view from some rooms. Our room was spacious and bathroom had good storage. Cons: expensive. Very low water pressure. Air Conditioner barely kept up with May heat and humidity. No place to wash sand off your feet when you come in from the beach.

Told there was an elevator for my building, had a 3rd floor room, elevator was broken and not going to be fixed for 3-4 weeks. resort daily fee charge told if I used the on site restaurants that i receive the fee back as subtracted from my food charge. Not told food charge HAD to be put on my room bill. not given internet password but told repeated to use my computer to make reservations to restaurants, phone in room did not work, only one plug in by bedside worked and light was in plug...I use a CPAP machine at night and difficulty finding a plug to use. None of my concerns or room problems were addressed except to move me to another building the afternoon of my last night. I definitely would not stay here again. for the price the hotel service at main desk was not friendly. Servers at Shipyard and old Captiva House were wonderful though and handyman for resort very helpful.

Once again Tween Waters didn’t disappoint. Out 24th year going and this time for our daughter’s wedding which was magical! Shout out to Marissa for personally handling all of our family and friend’s reservations! Also thanks to Tony for picking up the tab at the Crowsnest for the newlyweds (they said it was fantastic!!) and to Marissa, Doug and Michelle for the goodies and gifts that were sent to their room! For years our friends and some family couldn’t understand why we chose Captiva and specifically Tweens year after year. We were thrilled to have them as our guests for the wedding and they too have fallen in love with Captiva! Until next time we will be Captiva dreaming!

Stayed here for two nights in order to check out Captiva. We came here for dinner before, and thought it wasn’t that nice, but we were wrong. The place grows on you the longer you are here. It’s nice to not have to jump in your car to eat somewhere, and to have a decent pool nearby. Cons - not really any, parking can be tough, but you’ll find a spot. Pool bar staff didn’t seem real friendly. Need more lounge chairs around pool. Need to get rid of hot tubs and maybe put some corn hold games or whatever there Pros - great location, variety of restaurants, room was nice and large, very nice beach across street, umbrellas and chairs for $25, pool large and clean, Captiva town restaurants a mile away

Let me start this review by stating that this was our second trip to Sanibel / Captiva. Our first visit occurred in March 2022 to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We stayed at the West Wind Inn in Sanibel. We fell in love with Sanibel / Captiva and the West Wind Inn that we booked a return trip to the West Wind Inn for December 2022. Obviously due to Hurricane Ian, that trip did not occur. So how does someone celebrate a new decade beginning birthday? You book a birthday vacation to the sister resort of the West Wind Inn in Captiva, Tweens Water resort. We booked a King Bay Suite overlooking the marina and bay. We spent a considerable amount of time on the screened in balcony overlooking the bay and Mangroves. The room was spacious and in great condition. Every staff member we met including the staff by the pool, restaurants and front desk were friendly and very helpful. On our arrival, we had trouble locating our building, a helpful staff member drove his golf cart to our building as we followed in our car. We loved the pool area with the two pools. We spent three days at the adult Serenity pool. Including two days renting one of the pool cabanas. We loved the pool service allowing for easy drink and food orders from the oasis pool bar and food service. We ate both dinner and breakfast at the Shipyard and dinner at the Old Captiva house. All meals were delicious and the staffs were friendly and outstanding. We also did takeout Pizza from Captiva Crust one night. Again, the Pizza was outstanding. We had such a great time at Tweens Water, we booked a return trip for the same week in March in 2025. We can’t wait to return next year.

Our family spent 5 days at Tween Waters in March 2024. We stayed in the Peterson cottage, which was perfect for parents + children 13, 10, and 6. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchenette was a perfect base for beach and pool days. The cottage was comfortable and clean - our only complaint was flat pillows. The resort is a perfect mix of everything we need and small enough to be comfortable sending my kids across it on their own. It's not kitschy and over commercialized. I'm sure it was full when we stayed but it never felt crowded. The pool and hot tubs were great (we did not use the adult pool), and the Oasis pool bar & grill was fantastic. Poolside service was such a treat. Staff at the Pelican's Roost marina/gift shop were helpful when we shopped and rented fishing rods for fishing off the dock. The best part about Tween Waters is being literal steps away from both the gulf beach and the bay. You have multiple dining options within steps as well. You can get a ride to the Captiva town center for $5/person. There is also free kayak and bike use. It's a perfect family resort, but my husband and I stayed without the kids a few years ago, and it's wonderful as a couples retreat as well. Don't hesitate to stay at Tween Waters!

DONT STAY HERE!!! I've never experienced such horrible customer service, especially from a high end resort. We lost power for 24 hrs & their response was...its not our fault. The staircases were completely dark, no emergencies lighting. Being on the 3rd floor I felt this was a huge safety issue. Finally I was told I would get credit for 1 night. They charged my credit card for the amt minus 1 night but the next day there was a different charge that didn't include the free night. My card was also charged for drinks we bought even though they said we had $75 credit to spend. And the most disturbing thing I witnessed was 2 staff members from the bar at the pool attack a senior citizen over a dispute. 1 worker had the man on the ground in a choke hold while the other worked punched him. The man was yelling that he couldn't breathe and they wouldn't stop until the man turned purple. So now my credit card is being charged for amounts that aren't correct. I guess its time to take further action. This place is a rip off and has hostile employees. Hitting a senior citizen is the lowest of low. This could be your elder relative! Place should be closed down!

The Tween Waters has a great location and we enjoyed the grounds. What we didn't enjoy was the food service. We ate at 3 different restaurants Crows Nest, Old Captiva House and at the pool. We were only there two nights so we only ate at Tween Waters 3 times. At the Crows Nest my wife's dish was overcooked and cold as well as the broccoli. At the old Captive House the beef dish was again over cooked and cold. Ordered finger food at the pool and it took over an hour to have cold food delivered, which was sent back and after another half hour we finally got hot food and apology from the bartender stating they were swamped with orders. Appears to me that that Tween Waters needs training on how deliver good food that is HOT. Probably are under staffed so food just sits while the waiter is serving other people. This was our first time at Tween Waters and we will not go back.
