We had one overnight stay while traveling South. Hotel was easy to find with use of Google maps. Plenty on site parking. Efficient check-in. Room was compact, but comfortable. Nice hot shower. Towels were provided. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant, which felt a bit more like a pub with football on TV and a pool table. Not everything on the menu was available to order; although salmon and burger were lovely and plentiful. The waiter was very helpful. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, as we brought our own. Hotel popular with white van drivers.

hotel permanently closed, not been a nice hotel for years through lack of inves**ent from the owner company, and now permanently closed but still open to certain members of society,it'll soon be knocked down and the land used for affordable housing which the city desperately needs

This hotel is well placed on top of a hill with ample parking, the room is lovely clean and comfortable, the staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you and the food is lovely especially the curry. There are lovely views and is just on the outskirts of town. We are definitely to book again.

I will write this review not to slate, but I want to forward a serious concern of training. I’ve have experienced the most welcoming and comfortable hospitality from a young gent tonight on the reception desk. I have had a very pleasant conversation with him after he provided me with a drink at the hotel bar tonight. My reasons for giving a poor review tonight is because I have never ever in my entire career as a coach driver, whilst I have stayed at ANY hotel, needed to try and calm the nerves of a receptionist who has become visibly upset; the lack of training and guidance given to this young man has been so poor. He is trying his upmost hardest to get the job done to the best of his ability however, there is only so much that someone can do when they’ve been thrown into the deep end.

Stayed for one night in a double room. The room was a good size, the bed was big and comfortable, bathroom clean, in a quiet location but only 20 minutes walk to the centre of Carlisle. Free car parking. Really excellent for the price.

Ok. I was advised about the extra price for the leisure facilities. And the staff were extremely friendly and professional. But the entrance into the hotel was a step back in time. There was a boxing event on and most people in reception looked like they'd just been in a fight. The micro climate was like table mountain in Cape Town, but cause by the hoards of below freezing miniskirts chain smokers standing outside the door. The thumping music and what I imagined to be a sequined dinner jackets compare stopped at around eleven. It wasnt until 2am when the foul mouthed drunk started ranting to his friend outside my door. The pool is small. But warm and clean and again... friendly. The problem here is not the staff, but the owner who is taking the rewards without putting money back into the structure. Let's not discuss the carpark. Ok you twisted my arm. Cars crammed in but not enough room. Pot holed and badly played out. We ended up parking in the overflow next to Carlisle's sexuall health clinic. Just a short walk from the hotel. If you want cheapest around... for the night we booked... this was it.

Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stay at in my whole life. You would have to pay me to stay there next time. The whole building needs work done to update it, the room we first we got given stunk of cigarette smoke and had mould in the window. The second room we got you could hear every word the room next door said. The women on reception was rude and demanding us to wear a mask when she did not even have a mask on her self he was using a scarf held to her face. Face coverings are not legally required in hospitality settings as of yet so thought there was no need for this. My main concern would of been catching a disease from that hotel. Most un welcoming arrival.

Hotel is in urgent need of some tlc, as we arrived cans and bottles littered the frontage especially around the little alcoves with the artificial grass "laid" which encourages sitting/loitering in front of the car parking area, not a nice look. The hotel grounds are also badly kept, the stairs leading down to the pavement below are a safety issue as they're not level and crumbling in parts. We arrived an hour early after a long drive and we were told by the girl at reception we couldn't book in until the allocated time as the rooms weren't ready yet but added we could have one if we paid an extra charge???? No thanks, contradiction, it's either ready or it's not! The room itself was clean but bed was rock hard, one window looking out to an overgrown plot at the back of the hotel. Overpriced and outdated, handy location and could be so much better with some tlc. Wouldn't recommend.

Booked to stay between 8-15 August. Room was very dirty. What looked like excrement was smeared on the floor by the bed, there was hair in the shower, taps looked like they hadn't been cleaned, and the carpet generally looked like it hadn't been vacuumed. I asked if they had another room and they didn't so I chose to stay elsewhere. A dirty room is never ideal but considering Covid is still prevalent it is even more distressing. I asked the receptionist if I could cancel my reservation and get a refund and was told I needed to fill out a (paper) complaint form and that I couldn't get a refund until the manager saw it and that they would be in contact with me. I waited until the following Tuesday before calling as I had heard nothing from them and was told that the manager was on vacation. I confirmed with the receptionist that my form was still there and it indicated that I had left before staying any nights at the hotel. I waited another two weeks and still hadn't heard anything from the hotel so I finally called back on August 23rd multiple times asking for the manager. The receptionist took my name and number and said she would get the manager to call me. Still hadn't heard from him the following day, so I followed up yet again and finally got a hold of him. He said he didn't have my complaint and just had a note with my name/number on it then said he would have to speak to his manager in order to process the refund...which never happened. It is now September 29th and the manager has never contacted me, nor have I received a refund, despite me calling and emailing almost daily. The reception staff continue to take my name and number and assure me he will contact me, but he has never done so. Absolutely ridiculous.
