Omni la Costa Resort & Spa Carlsbad

Love to travel, we always stayed at Westin, always great experience. Booked the Omni resort and spa not knowing anything about it but liked reviews. Once we pulled into resort we were pleasantly surprised. WOW was first word we said. This place is SPECTACULAR, FANTASY ISLANDfor those old enough to remember. WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE THIS PLACE. GO to check in for SUNDAY and MONDAY my mistake I did not have reservations for SUNDAY. Angel at the front desk said "no worries I will take care of everything " SHE WAS TREMENDOUS, upgraded us to GREAT ROOM. I cannot say enough things about this resort from the valet team to front desk to room service GREAT. I WILL ONLY STAY AT OMNI RESORTS from now on. I GIVE THIS RESORT 10 STARS. THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE YOU MADE OUR 40th ANNIVERSARY MEMORABLE ❤️.

We recently stayed at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa for a family getaway, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed. Our room was absolutely incredible and had our whole family saying "wow" when we walked in. The resort itself is beautiful, with gorgeous grounds, plenty of space to explore, and so many activities that kept all three of us entertained. The dining was excellent throughout our stay. Dinner at VUE was outstanding and easily one of the best meals we've had in a long time. The service was attentive, friendly, and made every meal feel special. Another standout experience was the pickleball lesson my husband and daughter took together. Their instructor was patient, encouraging, and made learning the sport so much fun. I treated myself to a spa visit, which was the perfect opportunity to relax and recharge. We left feeling refreshed, connected, and already talking about when we can come back. If you're looking for a Southern California resort that offers something for everyone Omni La Costa is absolutely worth the visit.

The hotel grounds are lovely a the room I was in was large and pleasant. Despite having multiple pools none are suitable for lap swimming. Also the second floor rooms have no elevator for luggage and there are several stairs to maneuver walking from the lobby to the rooms. Despite asking for one of the newer rooms and being situated closer to the lobby I was placed on probably the farthest room away (about 7 minute walk) in section 500 and in a nice but not new room. Not sure what the architects were thinking when they renovated and didn’t put a few curb cuts and a lap pool. Also location is far from most things.

Great location and lovely resort. Room was quiet and perfect size for our weekend. Will stay again in the future.

Beautiful resort grounds and great kids activities overall. We had a lot of other issues, though. Early Amex check in was not honored, which caused a lot of issues for us upon arrival. We also weren’t given our Amex welcome letter explaining our benefits, and we heard differing things about our benefits depending on the staff member we asked. Same with our friends traveling with us. We were not given Omni Kids tote bags for our kids upon check in, as we were told later they ran out. Not enough shade and seating at the family pools. Broken/torn lounge chairs by the Splash pool. Lots of ants and bees up in the grass overflow area. Lifeguards didn’t seem to have a great attitude or care about enforcing rules by the slides. Kids bingo didn’t have an adequate number prizes for the kids, but they let the kids continue to play, which left them feeling disappointed. Hostess at the Vue restaurant wasn’t very friendly either time we went. Service and food there otherwise was great. Kids buffet was a nice touch, but they kept running out of food. Landscaping/watering was being done when we went for breakfast at Vue. Despite the fact that we were seated right there by the flowers, no effort was taken to go around us with watering. Housekeeping came in the room with no warning at 8am, despite having out Do Not Disturb sign and latch on the door. I asked them to come. Ack in 30 minutes and they didn’t return until 5pm when we came back to the room for dinner, having been gone for the entire day. No answer when calling operator multiple times for requests and no way to see our bill on the TV in room. Had to go down to reception to view the folio, which had me charged for both Valet and Self Parking each day.

My wife and I stayed here visiting the flower festival in April. Nice grounds, room was private and perfect -privacy and walk out patio -views. Only concern I had was limited restaurants on site. Tried to eat in main are that had empty tables said need reservation. Went to manager and they said could do nothing. Loyalty ambassador and staff friendly. Prefer Omni San Diago as more access to walk about and restaurants. Worth visit but won't go back. If you play golf great property. Good kids -family pool.

Our stay at Omni La Costa was just okay, beautiful grounds and a fantastic pool area that our kids absolutely loved, which was honestly the highlight of the trip. But overall, for what we paid, I don’t think it was worth the money. We booked a one-bedroom suite, which turned out to be a disappointment. It was essentially two connecting standard rooms rather than a proper suite. The layout felt odd and disjointed, and it didn’t feel special or upgraded for the price. I regret booking it and would not recommend it. The rooms and hallways throughout the property also felt outdated and in need of renovation. The room itself didn’t feel as clean as I’d expect for the price point either. To be fair, the resort grounds themselves are lovely, and the pool complex made for a genuinely great time with the kids-that part of our stay was a real highlight. But between the dated rooms, the disappointing suite layout, and the overall value for the price, we wouldn’t book here again. If we’re back in the area, we’ll try the Park Hyatt Aviara next time and hope for a better experience for the price paid.
